September 2019 Financial Checklist
It’s September! And do you know what that means? …we officially have an excuse to spontaneously belt out the Earth, Wind and Fire classic at any given moment for the next month?
...Yes! But, it also means that Winter’s finally over and spring has just begun, which is great unless you suffer from allergies and your Winter sniffles are soon to be replaced by spring hayfever.
Nevertheless, what better way to spring into spring (pun intended) than with yet another fabulous financial checklist, September 2019 edition!
Spring into the property market
Spring has sprung, and so has the biggest property season of the year. We’ve officially hit the spring property season, so, if you've been tossing up on whether to put your house on the market now or to wait, then there’s no time like the present.
Plus, with home loan interest rates currently at a record low thanks to the recent RBA rate cuts, now’s the time to snatch up a steal of a deal in the home loan department. For all the pro tips, make sure to check out what Mozo Property Expert, Steve Jovcevski had to say about buying a house during the Spring property season.
Nothing like a spring wedding
Spring isn’t just the property season peak; it's also the prime time for a wedding too! Summer’s too hot, winter’s too cold, but spring has just the right weather conditions for your fairytale wedding. So, if the sudden bloom of flowers has planted the seed of having a spring wedding in your head, then it’s time to get planning.
But, keep in mind that wedding’s aren’t cheap. In fact, according to Wedded Wonderland, the average cost of an Aussie wedding in 2019 is $53,168! Now, we don’t know about you, but not many people have that kind of cash just lying around. So, you might want to consider taking out a personal loan to pay for your big day instead.
Start a side hustle
Last month on Monday Moneyvators, we explored a bunch of different ways to earn some extra coin on the side, from Uber driving to online surveys to turning your hobby into an income stream. A little goes a long way, especially when it comes to money.
So, if you’re looking for ways to get you to your savings goals on the ASAP, then why not take up a side hustle? And if you really want to plump up your savings, then go ahead and stash your extra cash into a high-interest savings account, so that you can score a little more bang for your buck in interest.
Virgo-style financial spring clean
Virgo, it’s your time to shine! Now, there’s no denying that our Virgo pals cop a lot of flak for being the super-obsessive meticulously organised sign of the zodiac (if you know one, you can probably vouch for this). But, you got to hand it to them, if someone’s going to get the job done, it’s a Virgo.
So, this month, why not follow in their footsteps and do a big financial spring clean? Your Virgo friend might even offer to do it for you! By the way, Virgo’s, our Mozo Magic 8-ball predicted 2019 to be the year that you’ll snatch up some real estate. And with spring property season in full bloom, it seems the stars could be aligning in your favour, so, watch out for potential investment opportunities.
