Fixed Rate Home Loans

If you’re looking to lock in your mortgage rate over the short term then a fixed rate home loan  from P&N Bank could be what you're after. The customer-owned bank offers a single fixed option for both owner occupiers and investors - the Fixed Rate Home Loan - which is on loan amounts starting from just $20,000. The loan offers competitive rates across 1-5 year fixed terms and is available for borrowers with a deposit as low as 5%. While there isn’t much in the way of features with this loan, there are relatively few fees which is a bonus. For all the details, check out the linked review below.

Variable Rate Home Loans

For borrowers after a little more flexibility in their mortgage, one of the variable rate home loans on offer from P&N Bank might just a better fit. Variable rate options are available from $20,000, up to 90% of the property’s value, but unlike the fixed rate alternative there are also a range of features including the ability to make free extra repayments, free redraws (minimum applies) and a 100% offset account - although the availability of these features depends on the specific loan. For greater detail, check out the linked variable rate reviews below.

P&N Bank home loan features in a glance

Offset icon

Offset account

A number of P&N Bank's variable rate mortgages include a 100% offset account as a feature which allows borrowers to reduce the loan amount they're paying interest on by making contributions to the offset account. Just remember, this feature isn’t available on fixed rate options.

Free icon

Free extra repayments

Most of P&N Bank's variable rate home loans also allow extra repayments to be made towards the loan for free, which has the double benefit of paying it off faster without accruing as much interest.

Flexible repayment schedule

Set your own schedule, with the option to choose between making weekly, fortnightly or monthly repayments on all but the fixed rate P&N Bank mortgages.

Great interest rates, dealbreaking lack of service

Great interest rates. Deal-breaking lack of service. P&N bank had not a care in the world for our land contract deadlines that had been generously extended 3 times by the owner. As a result, 10 weeks after signing our build contract, P&N still hasn't delivered and our land owner is canceling the contract. We have now lost our chance to get unprecedented grants to build our first home. This opportunity is unlikely to ever present itself again and due to the inaction of P&N, we won't be building.

No way I would recommend. Approval takes months.

We applied for a refinance mortgage 6 months ago - we have no outstanding debt and a proven record of saving - we still have not heard a yes or no. They have asked for the same documents several times, it seems that every time the loan changes hands to a new customer service person they ask for everything again. My broker won't recommend them again. There is the excuse of COVID but this is ridiculous. We don't want to start the process again as we have been waiting so long but I wish I could go somewhere else.

I always recommend P&N to friends and family.

Great communication with regards to interest rate changes. Regular phone calls to check if I am happy with their products and services. Very competitive interest rates.

P&N are reliable with great service.

Since switching to P&N with our home loan we haven't had any issues. The refinance process was made simple and the staff are always helpful. Plenty of branches and every time I've been in I never have to wait long. The app and website are easy to use too.

  • Proof of a regular income, like your two most recent payslips or group certificates
  • Proof of any other sources of income, including pensions, rental income or family allowances
  • Details on any debts or credits you have
  • Details about any assets, savings and life insurance policies you may have
  • A copy of the signed “offer and acceptance” for the property you are buying
