GIO’s Platinum Car Insurance offers you one of the most comprehensive levels of cover available on the market, but what else would you expect from a 2023 Mozo Experts Choice Car Insurance Award winner? As GIO’s premier level of car insurance you can expect some neat features like lifetime new car replacement, access to GIO’s platinum hire car service and your choice of repairer, all of which is made more affordable by generous multi-policy discounts.
GIO's standard and 'Platinum' levels of comprehensive car insurance both offer a wide range of cover, though the latter provides the broadest insurance.
GIO Platinum Car Insurance will cover not only your car but any personal property within your car up to the value of $1,000 and baby seats or capsules up to $750. Windscreen cover also comes as standard as part of this policy, with one excess-free claim each policy period. You are also given the freedom to select a repairer you personally trust if your car needs fixing.
If the worst happens and your new car is stolen or written off, GIO will replace it with a brand new car of the same make and model, just as long as you’re the first registered owner and had it is insured with GIO within 13 months of purchasing the car (this only applies to the Platinum policy).
GIO also eases the strain on your wallet by applying a few discounts. For example, if you hold three or more insurance policies with GIO, then you could nab another 10% off using the multi-policy discount. What's more, safe drivers will be rewarded with a no claims bonus between 5% and 20% depending on how long they hold a GIO policy without making a claim.

It is a good idea to keep GIO up to date with a list of drivers. Otherwise if you lend your car to a friend and they are at-fault for an accident, you’ll be forced to fork out for a $1,400 unlisted driver excess.

Unfortunately, there's no option to give a zero-star rating here! Suncorp Insurance (including AAMI, GIO, and AAI—all the same under different names) fails to provide quality service for customers and car repairs. You have the option to choose your own repairer or go with their recommended repairer. However, if you choose your own, Suncorp often neglects to support the customer and seems to avoid providing assistance. When customers request information, Suncorp frequently refuses to share it. The only solution to this issue seems to be involving the ACCC, Fair Trading, or other relevant consumer protection services.

what can I say they have helped with all my needs for my insurance and everything else. theres barley any wait time to get hold of someone when needed very helpful people and all in good provider for me and others cons- I don't really have any complaints for my end I'm very satisfide with them all.
