It’s great for anyone looking to save on their first year’s premium with a $75 online application discount. And if you’ve got a shiny new set of wheels, the new-for-old replacement could be a big drawcard. QBE Comprehensive Car Insurance is hitting some winners straight off the bat. A wide range of events and support are covered as standard, including accidental damage, fire and theft, weather damage, essential repairs up to $500, and emergency transport and accommodation up to $1,000. 

Reasonable towing costs will also be covered after an incident and if you’ve been in a not-at-fault accident, QBE will also sort you out for a hire car while your ride is being repaired or replaced. New car drivers can cruise easy knowing there is new-for-old car replacement if your vehicle is written off (so long as it’s under three years old and has driven less than 60,000).

There are a few things you’ll only be able to access at an additional cost. You’ll need to decide if you want to opt-in for hire car cover after an at fault accident or weather event, and for excess-free windscreen replacement (excess-free repairs included in standard cover). You’ll also only be able to choose your own repairer during a claim if you opt-in.

The cherry red convertible on top is the $75 discount you’ll get on your first year’s premium simply for applying online.

This comprehensive policy will suit any driver looking for expansive cover. However, it could be particularly good for new car owners, as the new-for-old replacement covers cars which have driven a substantial 60,000km and are up to three years old.

    Easy to deal with.

    So far they have been easy enough to deal with. Only had to talk to them at the start of the cover and renewals have been straightforward. They also gave us a gift card during Covid times since we are driving less anyway! I thought that was really lovely.

    They are easy to use and very helpful.

    People should use QBE. I had no trouble signing up, the people were genuinely out to help me, and their site is very easy to manage. There is all the pros, no cons. I'd recommend QBE to anyone!

    Pathetic insurance around.

    Got this pathetic insurance for our new car. Someone hit the rear door while reversing like an idiot. We put the claim through. They said we were not at fault and we started the repair. Halfway through the repair they changed it and said we are at fault and now we have to pay the excess. Bloody frauds. Do not go with them. They will take your money but never help.

    Worst Insurance Company ever!

    My son was seriously injured (he was actually almost killed) by a QBE customer and therefore put in a Ctp Claim. What a nightmare! Can’t understand the so called “Case Manager”. She misunderstands all communication, both phone and emails, implies that I was to blame for them not receiving my claims for processing, constantly miscalculates money owing to my son. The list goes on. Wouldn’t recommend them if they were the last insurance company on earth!
