I was to travel to Europe, so I wanted to have a travel money card and as I prefer Qantas to travel so I was keen on getting the newly launched Qantas Pay card in May,24. After much persuasion I was able to get a card just before I was to fly in June. From my memory, for the launch of this new card Qantas Money had put up a promotion of 15000 Qantas FF points and deposit of money multiplying by a factor to a limit of 50000 AUD giving money on top of that. Thus, I deposited AUD 8000 before the deadline of June 4,24 into the Qantas Pay account in the hope that I will get 15000 + 12000=27000 points. I also used Qantas Pay card overseas as well. Unfortunately, I did not take a screen shot of the promotion due to the reputation of the Qantas and the Qantas FF staff. I subsequently contacted Qantas Pay at the end of June and was advised that I should see the points reflected by second week of July, However, upon following up now – nearly end of July, I have not been provided the screen shot of that promotion, nor a follow up e-mail promised by Qantas Pay instead have been advised that there was no promotional bonus Qantas FF points and have put in a twist that all the money deposited should have been converted in foreign currency. As conversion rate on Qantas Pay is much worse than other travel card like Wise so I used the card in Europe as and when I required. However, they have not even credited the points for expenditures I made in Europe. Qantas Money is wholly based in Philippines and the staff has not been trained to listen to the issue instead they go round and round the topic trying to avoid a clear reply. Besides, different customer relation person has a different rule for the product. I would not recommend getting a Qantas Pay neither for use overseas or in Australia. Besides, unlike other card like Wise it does not have place on Apple Wallet and exists in physical format.
