Double standards, asking for documentation that has absolutely no bearing on the result of whether the claim should be paid. Asking for qantas to provide a letter why the flight was cancelled is outrageous. Proof was supplied that the flight was cancelled via email and sms. NIB does thus to bully you into submission and they hope you find it all to difficult and give up. Shane on you NIB.
Nib are making my life a misery. My flight was cancelled by qantas. I received an sms in dubai from qantas advising of the cancellation. This resulted in me having to book another flight which I paid for. Nib will not payout until a letter is received from qantas as to the reason the flight was cancelled. Three other people with exactly the same insurance from nib who were with me on the same flight have been paid out without the need for a letter. Go figure . It all depends who reviews your claim. Pray you don't get Danielle. Nib are completely and comprehensively useless. I will never use them and nobody should either.
Nib customer service is good and ready to help you. I was charged extra fees for a dental treatment because I was misinformed by one of the representatives so the next time I called, the manager happily credited back the extra amount and adjusted that into my premium. As a result it restores my faith into the company and I’m thinking of going for another product with them soon. Both me and my wife have Nib cover and we are happy with them. I think it's a customers duty to be informed before going for medical treatments to be better informed. I would recommend Nib to friends and family because they've always been really helpful and affordable.
I am a nib Heath member and thought it would be better to choose no for travel insurance. How disappointing, I was put on hold 45 minutes or more. What a shame. Very poor service, would never recommend them to anyone.
They only charged a few dollars for a week long extension.
Customer service was drawn out and terrible as they outsource their travel insurance services to another company. It took 4 phone calls to update my policy and they didn't actually resolve the issue in the end. Don't bother calling the help line because no one there actually knows what's going on. Ended up cancelling and 2 weeks later they still haven't refunded me the money! I can't imagine what it would be like trying to claim.
