What's hot:

  • No account fees, No ATM fees

  • Unlimited phone and internet transactions

What's not:

  • Over the counter transaction fees

Mozo snapshot:

ME's competitive Everyday Transaction Account offers all the modern features you would expect from a bank account including no monthly fees, no fees on electronic transactions and free access to any ATM anywhere in Australia. Plus, the account comes with a Debit Mastercard called Buck, which comes in a range of cool colours and makes shopping a breeze as you can just tap and go for purchases under $100.

Key features:

If you do most of your banking online, over the phone or at the ATM, the ME Everyday Transaction Account won't cost you a thing. There are no account fees and you'll never have to worry about ATM fees with this account in Australia as you can use any ATM free of charge.

Buck is the account's debit card, which is linked to the Mastercard network so you can make online or instore purchases anywhere in the world where MasterCard is accepted, that's 32 million locations in case you were wondering. While ATM withdrawals are free within Australia just be aware that international ATM withdrawals are $4 a pop and overseas purchases and withdrawals will also incur a 2.3% international transaction fee on top of the Australian dollar amount.

So that you can find Buck quickly in your wallet you have the choice of four stylish card colours to choose from including Avocado Green, Lobster Red, Pineapple Yellow or Shark Blue.

Who it's good for:

Anyone over 16 can open an ME Everyday Transaction Account. It's a good account for those who want to skip account keeping fees, ATM fees and don't mind giving up the option of making deposits or withdrawals from a local branch.

Any catches?

Just watch shopping with Buck as there is a $2,000 per day, per card daily debit card withdrawal limit.

Also like most everyday accounts is that funds in an ME Everyday Transaction account won't earn any interest, so you would be better off slipping your savings over to a high interest saving account and transferring it across when needed.
