The best Virgin credit card for your high flying wallet
The results of the 2019 Mozo Experts Choice Awards for Credit Cards are in, and Virgin Money’s Virgin Australia Velocity High Flyer credit card is jetting off with an award for the best Velocity Frequent Flyer Premium Credit Card.
The Mozo Experts Choice Awards for Credit Cards involve stacks of data analysis to compare and determine which credit cards really are offering customers the chance to reach for the sky.
So what made Virgin Money’s High Flyer Velocity credit card so special?
Well quite simply, this premium credit card really cut the mustard; it held up to scrutiny and proved its worth as a Velocity Frequent Flyer premium credit card.
But of course it didn’t prove its worth all on its own, that was down to Mozo’s team of expert data analysts who used a strict set of criteria to calculate the monetary value of each individual Velocity Frequent Flyer Premium credit card.
As Mozo Money Expert Peter Marshall said, “assuming an annual spend of $60,000, we determined the monetary value, to be gained from Virgin Money’s Virgin Australia High Flyer premium credit card, to be almost twice as much as the average across all premium credit cards considered for the Mozo Experts Choice Award for best Velocity Frequent Flyer Premium Credit Card.”
With this particular card you will be able to earn 1 Velocity Point per $1 spent, for the first $8,000 worth of eligible purchases. This means that with an assumed $60,000 annual spend ($5,000 per month), you should be able to accumulate 60,000 Velocity Points.
The potential number of Velocity Points to be earned, plus perks such as access to the Virgin Australia lounge and ongoing discounts, made this premium frequent flyer card really stand out from the crowd and most importantly worthy of a Mozo Experts Choice Award.
What other exclusive offers are there?
The Mozo Experts Choice Awards are designed to evaluate the value of each card, but of course there are always more perks and features to write home about, even if they aren’t part of the awards criteria.
With the Velocity High Flyer credit card stashed in your wallet, you have the ability to earn a $129 Virgin Australia gift voucher, granted you make one purchase at least 2 months before you request it. Plus you could potentially boost your points stash with the card’s current 100,000 bonus Velocity Points offer, available if you apply before 2nd December, 2019.
You could even benefit from insurance cover for international travel, extended warranty and transit accidents, plus purchase cover and access to a personal concierge service.
On top of that, you can also take advantage of the guaranteed pricing scheme. This scheme helps you get the best value for purchases made with your Virgin Money credit card. So if, for example, you just made a big purchase with your High Flyer card and you’re flipping through a brochure and notice the same item for $100 less, then Virgin Money might be able to refund the difference*.
“The Virgin Money, Virgin Australia High Flyer premium credit card would benefit someone looking for a high tier credit card who is constantly on the go, wants to build up their Velocity Points and enjoy the extra perks that come with a premium card,” Marshall added.
