    Misleading information costing people thousands.

Budget Direct will not cover your vehicle if you use a steel key safe lock box to store your car key whilst at the beach or car sharing. If your car is stolen or broken into and you use one of these security devices they will reject your claim, even though Budget Direct representatives advise you that you are covered at point of sale for these situations. This amounts to significant misleading sales practice and is in direct contravention of section 18 of the Australian Consumer Law relating to misleading and deceptive conduct. Our car was stolen 3 months ago and after initially being told you will get paid out for our loss they changed their mind and blamed me for the theft! So what did I do wrong! I locked my car key in a steel coded security device whilst at the beach. A practice endorsed by the police as the safest option and a method Budget Direct representatives advise as being acceptable when taking out a policy.

    Disappointed

This is just advice for people looking for cheap prices. Budget Direct is usually cheaper than other companies but I prefer going with Woolworths or Coles insurance as they are similar but have much better service. I was with budget for 2 years and they try to get from you as much as they can.
