If you’re after quality home insurance cover at an affordable price, the Everyday Home & Contents Insurance policy is certainly one to consider. After all, it was awarded a 2020 Mozo Experts Choice Award for Exceptional Value Home & Contents Insurance, making it one of the standout offers around. You can choose from two levels of coverage – Standard and Comprehensive – for a more tailored policy.
With both options, you can snag up to 10% off when you combine the home and contents cover.
You’ll be covered for a wide range of events with both levels of Everyday Home & Contents insurance such as fire, theft, storm and floods, plus the more unlikely ones like earthquakes and riots. The Standard policy also includes cover for accidental breakage to glass but not on general home fixtures and contents, so if you do want this cover, you’ll need to take out the Comprehensive policy instead.
In addition to the building structure, your building cover will include any fences and gates up to the sum insured as well as up to $750 for landscaping ($1,500 with Comprehensive). There’s up to $500 for replacement locks ($1,000 with Comprehensive), and should you not be able to stay in your property, the policy includes up to $500 for temporary accommodation for cats and dogs ($1,000 with Comprehensive) as well as emergency accommodation for yourself. This is for the lesser of 10% of the sum insured or 12 months across Standard and Comprehensive policies.
With the contents cover, there are some per item caps on things like cds and dvds, handwoven carpets, jewellery and antiques so be sure to check you PDS for details. Contents of any home office will be covered up to $5,000 ($10,000 with Comprehensive) and outdoor contents has a cap of $4,000 ($8,000 with Comprehensive).
Both levels of the policy offer optional extras (for a premium bump-up) such as cover for portable valuables which you regularly take outside your home and motor burn-out. There are many more features and some exclusions with this policy, so be sure that you read the PDS to ensure that it will meet your needs before you sign up.
There is also a discount up for grabs with the Everyday Home & Contents policy, up to 10% off for the life of the policy simply for choosing the combined home and contents option.
Everyday Standard Home and Contents Insurance is a good option for budget conscious homeowners who want quality cover without a high price tag, while the Comprehensive option gives you that extra slice of insurance reassurance.
Be mindful that there is no underinsurance protection with this policy. It's important to know the value of your home and belongings so that the sum insured matches the market rate, and if something was to go wrong you’ll be able to replace items or rebuild your home.

Price isn’t everything. Great price but unfortunately in my second year with Woolworths Insurance I had to lodge a claim for stolen bicycles. Lodged 11 June 2023 still waiting for a real person to phone me back even though I had been assured that I would be contacted on numerous occasions. I spent hours on the phone trying to talk to anyone who could help. Relieved that I had this claims experience on a minor claim. Buyers beware should you need to claim on Woolworths house and contents you will be letdown, ignored and left wondering if you are in fact insured.

Absolute worst experience ever .I would never recommend this insurer. There are no pros Woolworths insurance I lodged my claim in April 2022 post flood damage , today is June 2023 , my claim is still pending. I’ve been given an apology every time someone speaks to me but no one is able to tell me why they are apologising to me It appears staff don’t communicate or document correctly , completely incompetent staff . Case managers do not follow up , I have only gained any sort of headway with my claim after 3 complaints lodged since April 2023. The company that comes to assess your property are also incompetent . Twice my house was assessed by them by 2 assessor’s both neglecting several areas of my house when scope of works sent .

My experience with Woolworths Insurance has been nothing but excellent, I have had 1 claim for accidental damage to glass, and within an hour of lodging the claim, I had a call from a Glass Repair Company asking for a convenient day and time to fix my problem. Woolworths is cutting a path to the pinnacle of Home and Contents Insurance through their swift claim results and their ever-helpful, friendly Personnel. Highly recommended.

Trying to get information on the progress of my claim is terribleI phoned twice today and gave up after being on hold for an hour each time. I’ve tried sending emails, logged in to the portal and tried Facebook messenger, but I still don’t know the progress on my claim

At first I was a little sceptical going with Woolworths Insurance but thought I would give them a go because they offered a competitive rate. Whilst it wasn't the cheapest they offered a 10% discount a month by shopping at Woolworths so we took this into consideration. They have proved to be worthwhile. Earlier in the year we had a water leak and I was pleasantly surprised with the level of service we received & the promptness of the tradespeople when we made a claim. I was pleasantly surprised.
