Lodging the claim was fine but it took two weeks for my car to be towed from the holding yard, four weeks until they called me with an update and seven weeks until my claim was finalized and that was only after it was escalated to the complaints department. Never again.
I recently made my first claim after several years of being with Budget Direct. I quite clearly explained in the claim, which I lodged online, the cause of the problem and the fact that I did not expect them to replace my very old air conditioning unit. After an initial flurry of activity with 2 different trades visiting the house, there has been nothing for 3 weeks. Today I was told that the cause of the problem is not an insurable event and that I shouldn’t expect them to replace the air conditioner. I feel like we could have saved a lot of time and trouble if they had read the claim properly in the first place. I would like to think that if ever I do have a serious issue that they will deal with it promptly and resolve it to my satisfaction but I get the feeling that they will find a way to not have to pay out for any reason.
