There Rates are high and they outrightly refuse to give you a better Rate. The redraw is handy and you can put extra money in to pay down the Loan earlier. The charges are reasonable but due to the high Rates, I would not recommend them to anyone. Loyalty Tax is well and truly alive here.
I have several accounts with St George. I find banking with them to be easy and convenient. On rare occasions I have had to contact customer service I have found them to always be helpful.
I have no issue with the bank

I have never had a problem with St George, but when l mentioned if l would be charged an early termination fee, they said yes. I am half way through my 5 year car loan. They only let me of 1 payment because l was ahead 1 month. My car recently burst into flames because of a manufacturing fault. I did nothing wrong. I was driving my car and smoke was filling the cabin so l turned off the engine and got out. Five minutes later my car burst into flames. It was very frightening for me. I could have burnt alive. When l get my payout from my insurance company, they will pay out my loan. I shouldn’t have to pay for any fees. My car fire is a very rare occurrence. Does anyone know how l can avoid paying for the early termination fees? My car dealer originally told me to always keep a few dollars on my loan until it finishes to avoid any fees. Has anyone does this? Does it work?
Annual fees and rewards fee too high
I find the St George banking App simple and easy to use. Super easy check my balance, transfer funds and pay bills. Face to face Customer Service at my local branch is always a great customer experience. Super helpful staff who always have the answers to my banking questions. I found it so easy to exchange some old notes (cash) I had, to new notes, where other banks refused to take them or advised the cash would need to be sent off to be verified, taking up to 3 months! St George changed the cash on the spot! When I purchased my first home, St George organised loan approval very quickly and when I applied for a bridging loan, they again, arranged everything with no fuss at all. Nothing is ever too hard at St George Bank.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY I've been trying to change my account details for over a week! I've jumped through all the hoops they keep throwing my way (which I need to call and ask about as they didn't inform me.) just spoke to their customer service person who told me that I had to wait an unknown time and refused to transfer me to anyone else. ill be taking all my shares away from this joke of a company! 100% would not use again
Easy to organize, all online. Have good coverage for the price point
