Our departing flight was cancelled 5 minutes after we received our boarding passes and the airline had no other flights to get us onto. In a mad desperation we booked flights with another airline so we did not miss our connecting flights and left us out of pocket. These cost us more than the flights that were cancelled. Aus post would not offer any reimbursement what so ever. What's the point of travel insurance?
tortured with broken leg due to refusel of immediate treatmentleft with broken leg, no pain killers no cast for 2 weeks as they wanted to send me home for treatment to avoid paining medical in America. While waiting 2 weeks for them to organize my trip back to Australia I was left humiliated and in agony, having to crawl on my hands and knees even just to got to the toilet, then if I made it there it was often too late by the time I had to maneuver myself up and on to the toilet. I was unable to obtain a drink or a proper meal as I had no was of carrying it back. Partially approved with transport to Australia, still waiting on claim from airport transport to home. Finally received my travel cost to get home from airport after 10 weeks of numerous submissions
Thank you I know insurance very importent to us so i'm happy .
They don’t take care of their claims as they commit Ed to ( 10 days) it’s been over 35 days since we send the claim and every time we call they say they will call us back in 3-5 days but never call back. Such a disappointment from such a big service provider
Amazing place all items have tracking so you can see where your parcel is and nice workers.
Definitely a great choice for travel insurance that's not too expensive. The only thing that I didn't like was that most employees didn't seem to really know how to answer any questions I had before purchase. This didn't really have any consequences though as all the info is out there if you want to look.
I had to move my partner and y dream trip to Europe due to an injury. It took a lot of backwards and forwards phone calls with Aus Post to be told they couldn’t cover it. Eventually spoke to someone helpful who said if we were just ‘rescheduling’ our trip and not ‘cancelling’ then they would be able to cover it. They did cover the cost of flight and hotel changes but it was a very very painful process and not user friendly at all. In future I would use someone else as it was far to difficult to claim despite providing all paperwork requested
I am pleased to advise that Australia Post Travel Insurance has changed their cancellations policies and has now refunded my money in full. It was a long, frustrating and laborious process to get to this good outcome but well worth persisting with contacting the company to get the refund. I’m not sure if I would use Australia Post Travel Insurance again in future but will be asking a lot more questions before purchasing travel insurance from anyone in future.
Australia Post Travel Insurance is virtually uncontactable and will refuse to refund your money and hide behind the PDS. I bought my policy in May 2019 with Australia Post Travel Insurance for a cruise and USA trip on 24th March 2020 for more than $825.00 (the whole trip was cancelled by cruise line so will get my money back from them). It took me multiple attempts and hours upon hours to get through to Australia Post on the phone and spoke to Jen who was less than helpful. I was told that because I bought the policy before June 2019 the PDS was different then and I am entitled to absolutely no refund. This is despite the fact that they have provided me with no service and charged substantially for the privilege of purchasing an online policy. I asked for a supervisor to call me back which has not happened over a month has gone by. Please be warned. Don't use them and if you do read and understand the PDS. Even better take it to your solicitor first. Go elsewhere for travel insurance.
Australia Post are willing to insure people with pre-existing health conditions. It costs extra, but is quite reasonably priced.
Australia Post has been around forever and I trust them.
Australia Post never disappoint. They have the lowest rates going. Mind you we have been fortunate in the respect that we have never had an issue.
Australia Post travel insurance was really easy to buy and covered all of the necessary items needed for a holiday.
