Progress Saver (Kids)
The ANZ Progress Saver is an account for the committed saver. It has a 0.40% ongoing bonus rate as long as you make at least a $10 deposit per month and no withdrawals, fees or charges are processed to the account.
The ANZ Progress Saver has no account fees and free unlimited transactions over the internet but the Progress Saver only comes with 1 free ANZ transaction per month (EFTPOS, phone, or branch) so do most of your banking online.
The 0.40% special ongoing bonus is all yours as long as you make a minimum monthly deposit of $10 and no withdrawals, fees or charges are processed to the account.
This savings account is good for anyone wanting a high interest savings account with some restrictions so that they are less tempted to touch their savings pot. The savings account can be opened for children of all ages but if they're under 12 the account has to be opened in the name of the adult.
This is really a savings account for people who want to do their banking online. If you want to do your banking over the phone, via the ATM or in branch With the Progress Saver you only get 1 free transaction. After which you'll have to pay $1 ($2.50 over the counter) per transaction.

ANZ Bank’s online savings accounts have helped us with our family budgeting with a large number of easy to use no-fee accounts. We have money set aside for bills and can always see, at a glance, how much we have left for spending.

ANZ is not a bank for students or small savers. The bank has a way or avoiding paying out interest and hitting its users with hidden fees and overdraw fees. I highly recommend reconsidering opening a student spending or saving account with ANZ as their benefits don’t exceed the drawbacks for being with this bank.

Closed its branch. Getting in touch for help is disappointing. It used to be the best in Tassie, now I would put it on the bottom!

I have this account for my son. I deposit funds each week as a start for him when he turns 18. This would be used for study, starting a business, buying a car, etc. This account accumulates savings the more I deposit into the account. The deal with my son is if he wants to get something and wants money out of the account he has to deposit half first. This teaches him money saving, the importance of money and a responsible mindset when he spends money. ANZ were very helpful in the set up of my account as well as help I've received along the way like when I've had issues or question, a resolution has been provided with ease. I have recommended this to my parent friends for their children and they have seen a growth in their child's mentality on such matters.
