Don’t miss the first ever Afterpay Day - Up to 40% off 100 online retailers

In an event set to make any online shopper swoon and your bank balance cry, Afterpay is hosting a 24-hour shopping spree, called ‘Afterpay Day’, with up to 40% off its top 100 retailers including Country Road, General Pants and Mon Purse.

The event will commence at midday on 30th August to midday 31st August.

Afterpay is a modern layby service that allows customers to pay for items in 4 equal installments over a period of 6 weeks and is currently available across 7,200 online retailers.

“We’re excited to host the inaugural Afterpay Day in celebration of us hitting one million customers,” said Afterpay CEO, Nick Molnar.

“We’ve worked around the clock to bring the best retail experience to our loyal customers, from the diversity of products to the technology which will ensure quick navigation, as well as the seamless and safe transactions which our customers have come to expect.”

With the opportunity to save big with Afterpay Day, here are some sale spending tips from Mozo’s Money Experts:

Make a list - Shopping online during sales events can get overwhelming as we’re often spoilt for choice. Stay focused by making a list of all the items you want and tick them off as you buy. It also might be a good idea to jot down the sizes of the items to avoid wasting time deciding what would fit best.

Set a budget and stick to it - Making a massive online purchase can give anyone an adrenaline rush, but that high will be short lived when you realise you’ve blown your living expenses for the next two weeks. That’s why you’ll need to set a budget beforehand and stick to it.

Read the returns policy - Understand the returns policy for all the retailers you plan on visiting this Afterpay Day. There is nothing worse than not being able to get your money back because an item cannot be returned.

Not all bargains are equal - Sales can get the better of even the savviest shopper, but it’s important to remember that just because an item is on sale does not mean you have to buy it. Think about it, if those bright red heels are only going to live in the back of your cupboard, it wasn’t really a steal afterall.
