With the Westpac Altitude Black card, you can choose between either the Altitude Rewards or Qantas Frequent Flyer option. On top of this, you'll also have access to a wide range of complimentary features including concierge, travel insurance and extended warranty. But that's not all! Should you opt-in for the Altitude Rewards option, until 31 March 2021, you'll receive 150,000 bonus Altitude points if you spend $4,000 on eligible purchases within 90 days of new card approval.
When you pick up the Westpac Altitude Black online exclusive offer, you can choose between a card linked to the Altitude Rewards program if you like a little flexibility in your redemption options, or the Qantas Frequent Flyer program if you’re all about travel perks.
Choose the Altitude Rewards program, and you can earn 1.25 rewards points per $1 you spend, uncapped, plus, if you apply before 31 March 2021 then you can also snag 150,000 bonus points by spending $4,000 on eligible purchases in the first 90 days after being approved for the card.
By opting for the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, you could pick up 0.75 Qantas points per $1 you spend (uncapped). Not to mention, you could receive 90,000 bonus Qantas Points when you spend at least $4,000 on eligible purchases within 90 days from card approval, plus, an additional 30,000 Points after 12 months.
Additionally, the Westpac Altitude Black card also comes with a number of travel treats such as two complimentary priority airport lounge passes each year – one of which you can now share with a travel companion – which you can use at one of over 1,000 airport lounges around the world. And with the 24/7 on-call concierge service you'll feel like you have your own personal butler.
The card also comes with complimentary comprehensive travel insurance which also extends to your spouse and children who travel with you. All you have to do for the travel insurance to be activated is buy $500 of your pre-trip expenses on your card, like flights or accommodation.
Other standard insurances included with the card are extended warranty, transit accident and purchase security insurance.
There is a $250 annual fee which is a bit steep, even for a rewards card, so be sure to utilise all of the 'free' features you get with the card like travel insurance and a dedicated concierge to get the best value from it. You'll also be up for a $50 Qantas fee if you choose that option, bringing the total annual fee to $300.
With an annual fee of $250, your annual spend will need to be over $20,000 before your rewards points start to have any real value. But with no maximum points cap, this card could work out very well for the big spender.
If you're opting for the Qantas Frequent Flyer option, a $50 rewards program fee applies.

How do we calculate these points?
To work out the "Rewards value minus fees" in our Rewards Revealer we:
calculate how many points you'd get each year,
figure out how many flights or gift cards or cashback credits you could get for those points,
work out what that's actually worth to you,
take off the annual fee you'd pay.
More details:
Our calculations are designed to help you compare the value of different rewards schemes. To do this, we've looked at earning a one-way Sydney-Melbourne flight excluding taxes and charges, a return Sydney-London flight excluding taxes and charges, a $100 shopping Gift Card and $100 cashback. Most cards will also offer other rewards, which may be worth more or less than the ones we've shown.
We have made no allowance for bonus points for using your card at specific merchants, introductory offers or special offers. We have not assigned any value to instant discounts, insurances, ticketing and concierge services or other such benefits.
Rewards value calculations do not take credit card interest into account. If you do not pay off your card each month you may be better off looking for a card based on interest rates than on the value of rewards.
In products that have more than one card, a different mix of spend between American Express / Visa / Mastercard will give different results. Mozo's Rewards Revealer lets you choose the mix based on the way you would use such a product, and gives you tailored results.
We assume flights purchased with airline points are 'classic' or 'reward' economy seats with restricted seat availability. 'Any seat' rewards will probably cost more.
To compare the value of flight rewards, we sample online retail flight prices once a quarter based on the average price on a Wednesday 3 months in advance but outside NSW school holidays. For domestic flights we take the lowest available fare from each flight on that day from Qantas Red e-deal, Virgin Australia Saver including baggage and Jetstar Starter including baggage. We calculate the average price excluding taxes and surcharges for each airline, and also the average across all airlines (which we use when rewards are travel agent vouchers). For international flights, we take the lowest available fares on that same Wednesday from each of Qantas, Emirates, Malaysian, Etihad, Singapore, Cathay Pacific and Thai, assuming a return flight 2 weeks later, calculate the average price before taxes and surcharges and use this as our assumed cost of a flight on any airline.
Shopping rewards are based on $100 gift cards from a major national department store.
We make every effort to ensure our calculations are correct and up to date but make no guarantees.

The interest rate is high but I had some good rewards I can actually use. They do not reject me at Point of sale if i am over limit,. Rather they send me a text so i can deposit into my account. Thanks guys. The only thing that annoyed me was at the Covid19 hold, they forgot to tell me a few things like they were going to reject my auto payments (Insurance and a few other things I have had taken from Credit card for years). All a bit of a rush i know, but had i known those T&Cs, I would not have asked for help as I top my account up all month and didn't need my automatic debits frozen thanks.

Westpac does not want to deal with any issues with the card. I had fraudulent transactions for 6 months. I chased the bank to investigate via, mobile app, phone calls and numerous email. No one took any responsibility and instead asked to call the following weeks. I gave up, paid my account off and called to close the account. I kept getting moved from one person to the other, and then one person said they cant close my account as the team is not in the office? I will never trust them nor ever bank with Westpac again.

I have been with this bank for many years. I have found them to be very helpful if we have had to contact the with a query or problem, both online and in store. Always ask for what you want or expect from the bank. If you want a reduced interest rate they usually have room to move. You never know until you ask, don’t assume.

I have been with Westpac for long time. Bad communication when I applied for a new home loan. Hand balling to one person then another person and never followed up about the application. Finally ended up with NAB with better rates. I canceled both my home and landlord insurance with Westpac too as it was appalling! I have only one home loan left and it will be moved to NAB soon. Westpac credit card team is stupid. If they reject me, would they still have anyone to accept? Ridiculous! Never communicated with me for what they need for my application. I’m not wasting my time anymore. Done with Westpac. Feel sorry to be with them for 8 years and paid my interest and annual fees to them. Not worth it. Not anymore from now.

Westpac, what can I say, they are everything you want in a bank! Trustworthy, reliable, great customer service, great online banking set up and most importantly to me, awesome benefits that come with the credit card. No cons from me, would recommend highly to anyone.
