Don’t like credit card interest? Westpac may have the solution with it’s Flex card. Offering a credit limit of $1,000 this card is handy for making smaller purchases without a hefty interest rate to worry about. Instead simply pay a $10 monthly fee or $0 if you don’t use your card in a statement period. Currently, the Flex Card is available for existing Westpac customers only.
If the idea of an interest-free credit card sounds right up your alley, read on to find out more about the Westpac Flex card.
Unlike a regular credit card, this product operates more like buy now pay later where customers aren’t charged interest on their purchases. Instead, Westpac charges a $10 monthly fee when you pay down your balance in full each month. Plus, for those that don’t use their Flex card within a statement period, Westpac will waive the monthly fee. There are also no annual or late payment fees to worry about either.
This card is a good option if you only need a small credit card limit, as on the Flex card customers can only spend up to $1,000. And while this card is accepted for use both online and in-store, bear in mind Westpac only issues digital versions of this card for use of a smart device. There are no physical cards available.
When it comes to paying back what you owe, like buy now pay later there is an option to make monthly or fortnightly instalments with the option to make additional contributions whenever you like. No matter the size of your debt, the minimum repayment amount per month is $40.
On top of this, with the Westpac Flex card customers receive fraud protection as well as access to Westpac Extras and Rewards.
Currently, you must be an existing Westpac customer to join the Flex Card program.
This credit card might be a good option for someone looking for a low credit card limit and wants to avoid paying interest on their purchases. Plus, the monthly or fortnightly repayment plan can be a handy tool in making it easier to pay down what is owed.
Remember, this card option only allows for a credit limit of $1,000. If you are looking for a credit limit higher than that, the Westpac Low Rate credit card might be a better option.
