Looking for a classic credit card to help you ditch debt? With an enticing 0% introductory purchase rate for 15 months (20.09% p.a. thereafter), the Westpac Low Fee Credit Card could have you sorted. Better yet, you’ll keep the costs down with the $0 annual fee for the first year ($30 per year after that), and in each subsequent year when you spend $5,000 or more on purchases.
The Low Fee Credit Card is ideal for cardholders who are wanting to avoid debt, with up to 55 interest free days on your purchases when you pay off your balance in full by the due date. Just make sure you keep track of your payments, otherwise you’ll be stung by the 20.09% p.a. purchase rate and the $15 late payment fee.
If you’re wanting to take advantage of the card’s lengthy 0% introductory interest rate to make some big purchases, be sure to pay if off before the 15 month introductory period ends, as the rate reverts back to 20.09% p.a.
The Westpac Low Fee Credit Card has a $0 introductory annual fee for anyone in the first year, and a low $30 fee for future years. You’ll even be able to avoid an annual fee altogether after the first year if you spend more than $5,000 on purchases each year.
As part of the Mastercard network you’ll be able to use your card all over the world, while Mastercard Tap & go means you can use your card to tap-and-go for in-store purchases under $100. If you do choose to travel with your card, just watch out for the 3% foreign exchange margin.
The Westpac Low Fee Credit Card could be great for anyone looking for a low cost credit card with a great introductory purchase rate.
Just avoid the temptation to withdraw cash with your card, because you’ll be hit by the 21.29% p.a. cash advance rate.

Always the last to drop interest rates. Disappointing.

Westpac has been convenient for me. The staff are helpful and friendly you can always find an ATM machine. I have been with them for 30 years and never had a problem. It would be great if they had a good rewards program as there is no incentive to use your card. If they had a point system you would be more inclined to use your card more. Should be something for customers for their loyalty after twenty years of use.
