Looking for a classic credit card to help you ditch debt? With an enticing 0% introductory purchase rate for 15 months (19.74% p.a. thereafter), the Westpac Low Fee Credit Card could have you sorted. Better yet, you’ll keep the costs down with the $0 annual card fee for the first year, and in each subsequent year when you spend $5,000 or more on purchases (if you do not, a $30 annual fee will apply).
The Low Fee Credit Card is ideal for cardholders who are wanting to avoid debt, with up to 55 interest free days on your purchases when you pay off your balance in full by the due date. Just make sure you keep track of your payments, otherwise you’ll be stung by the 19.74% p.a. purchase rate and the $15 late payment charge.
If you’re wanting to take advantage of the card’s lengthy 0% introductory interest rate to make some big purchases, be sure to pay if off before the 15 month introductory period ends, as the rate reverts back to 19.74% p.a.
The Westpac Low Fee Credit Card has a $0 introductory annual card fee for anyone in the first year, and a low $30 fee for future years - which is waived if you spend more than $5,000 on purchases each year.
As part of the Mastercard network you’ll be able to use your card all over the world, while Mastercard Tap & go means you can use your card to tap-and-go for in-store purchases under $100. If you do choose to travel with your card, just watch out for the 3% foreign exchange margin.
The Westpac Low Fee Credit Card could be great for anyone looking for a low cost credit card.
Just avoid the temptation to withdraw cash with your card, because you’ll be hit by the 21.49% p.a. cash advance rate.

We have had a credit card for years with Westpac due to no annual fee. But I do feel as a secondary person the card a second rate citize . My husband is primary holder. Due to a printed statement coming here he opened it and I got into trouble for a astrology service (understandable)When I tried after this incident I got online information that I cannot authorise estatement as I am secondary holder. Also online chat non existent. Tried to contact customer service well thats like trying to contact god. I think Westpac going backwards. A few years ago Customer service was top I felt looked after now bottom of the pile. I wonder why still with them.

I have used the Low Fee Platinum card for many years (sometimes under different names) and in the past was quite happy. However - they recently changed the complementary travel insurance to exclude ALL Covid events which makes it useless. But the problem came when I needed to change the bank account I use for Auto-pay. I needed to download and print a form and then take it into my nearest bank - which maybe OK for some but not me. (My other card - Latitude) let me do this over the phone. I spent a while on their help chat and the helpful guy could offer no solution. So I will not use the card in future.

Always the last to drop interest rates. Disappointing.

Westpac has been convenient for me. The staff are helpful and friendly you can always find an ATM machine. I have been with them for 30 years and never had a problem. It would be great if they had a good rewards program as there is no incentive to use your card. If they had a point system you would be more inclined to use your card more. Should be something for customers for their loyalty after twenty years of use.
