That depends on your budget and how you want to manage your insurance cover. If you opt for the low excess option, then you’ll pay higher premiums upfront, but in an emergency, you won’t have to come up with a large amount of cash.
On the other hand, if you choose a high excess, you’ll have to get your hands on that amount of money in an emergency, but you’ll pay lower premiums upfront.
Your premium is calculated according to the likelihood of you making a claim - the more likely it is, the more you will pay. ANZ takes into account things like the make, model and colour of your car, how and when you drive and where your car is kept to decide how at risk you are.

As someone who uses ANZ banking, it was super easy to access their comprehensive car insurance. However for non-ANZ customers, I suspect it wouldn't be as easy to navigate and set up. I am under 25 so I pay a lot more than most drivers, but ANZ still has a competitive price compared to other companies who claim to offer 'better' deals to P-platers.

Only been insured for about one year with them. Customer service seems to be ok. I haven't made a claim yet so can't give an opinion on making a claim.

I have never had a claim, but they have always been very prompt when I have wanted information about anything.
