Mozo People’s Choice Awards reveal Australia’s favourite banks

The people have spoken and the results are in - Mozo has crowned the winners of its 2017 People’s Choice Awards in Banking, Electricity, Car and Home Insurance.

The Mozo People’s Choice Awards were based on a national survey of over 3,700 Australians, who were asked to rate their banking providers, insurance providers and electricity providers. The responses covered a total of 118 different banking institutions, 46 car insurance companies, 50 home insurance providers and 32 electricity retailers.

Across the four major categories, awards were split into sub-categories including Outstanding Customer Satisfaction, Excellent Customer Service, Most Recommended and Highly Trusted. There were 8 subcategories in the banking division, and one of the major winners, Bendigo Bank, managed to snag wins across all of them.

“What we saw with the results this year, and what we’ve been seeing for a few years now, is that customers are generally happiest with smaller banks,” said Peter Marshall, Mozo’s Data Manager.

“In insurance, we found that some of the biggest winners were those aimed at specific communities, such as older Australians. This suggests that these specialised insurance providers really put the effort into understanding what their customers value.”

Mozo also awarded a Major Bank Award for Outstanding Customer Satisfaction, which went to the Commonwealth Bank. CommBank was also recognised in the Excellent Banking App category.
