Key features

The Everyday Account from Bendigo Bank could be an ideal option as your main account, because if you’re able to deposit at least $2,000 a month into it (your regular salary for example) you’ll have the normal $6 monthly account fee waived.

Bendigo Bank has also decided to deck out the Everyday Account with a range of features to make it an appealing choice for mobile banking lovers. First of all, users will be able to pay on the go with their smartphones by linking their debit card to either Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay.

Secondly, customers will be able to set up their own PayID, make near-instant payments over the NPP (New Payments Platform) and pay their bills using BPay.

Still need to access cash though? No worries because Bendigo allows free over the counter deposits and withdrawals, plus there are no ATM fees in Australia when you take out cash using a Bendigo Bank or any major bank ATM.

However, if you’re planning on using your Bendigo Bank debit card overseas you’ll be charged $5 for any overseas ATM withdrawals you make, plus any international purchases will be hit with a 3.00% foreign exchange commission.

Who is it good for

The Everyday Account could be a great option for anyone wanting to use Bendigo Bank as a primary account in which they deposit at least $2,000 a month to get the $6 account fee waived. Especially for anyone who can also take advantage of the range of mobile-friendly features which are on offer.

Any catches

As we mentioned above, there are a few costs (including the foreign ATM withdrawal fees and the foreign exchange commission) that could make the Bendigo Bank Everyday Account and linked debit card expensive overseas travel companions.
