About Bendigo Bank

Bendigo Bank’s origins go back 160 years, when it began as Bendigo Bank in Victoria and Adelaide Bank in South Australia. It’s since grown to 1.6 million customers, but despite its size Bendigo Bank has managed to retain its community-minded spirit. If you’re interested in the products the bank has to offer, be sure to check out our Bendigo Bank bank account page.

What does the Bendigo Bank app do?

The Bendigo Bank app allows users to do everything you’d expect from a banking app, including view bank accounts, transfer funds, pay bills and send money to other people. But customers also treated to a number of other extras which make managing your finances easy, such as accessing information to help with taxes, and viewing your accounts in neat little graphs. It’s these features that made it an easy pick as a back-to-back winner of an Excellent Banking App Award in the 2019 and 2020 Mozo Experts Choice Awards.

Features we love

The Bendigo Bank app scores very well on design and functionality, but one feature which really sets it apart from other banking apps is the ability to personalise how you view your accounts. Bendigo allows you to vFiew your balance history in graph form, giving you a pretty clear look at the ups and downs of your finances. And if you’ve got a credit card, you can opt to display credit spent and credit available as a dial chart to give you that full financial picture. Sometimes it takes visualisations like these to help people get in right mindset to save, so this earns extra points from us.

Beyond that, the app is pretty feature-heavy. In fact, there’s very little it doesn’t do:

  • Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay are all supported.
  • You can login using just your fingerprint on compatible devices.
  • You can access information on interest and charges.
  • You can adjust card limits and cancel them if you need to.
  • Your spending activity, including upcoming payments, can be easily viewed.
  • New transaction accounts can be applied for in-app.
  • You can let Bendigo Bank know of any upcoming holidays so they’ll be able to monitor your card for you.
  • You can pay people quickly and securely using PayID.
  • Cheques can be cancelled online.

We’re not so hot on…

There’s not much to complain about with this one, but if we could change one thing, it would be the inability to open up an account with Bendigo Bank from within the app. For that you’ll need to head to their website or stretch your legs by visiting a branch.
