Aussie seniors can now save hundreds of dollars shopping at Woolies
Aussie seniors will now be able to save up to $200 a year on their grocery bills as well as hundreds of dollars on a range of other products like home insurance, thanks to a new partnership between the NSW Government and supermarket giant, Woolworths.
Announcing the deal yesterday at a store in Kellyville, New South Wales’ Premier Gladys Berejiklian said that the promotion would allow Woolies customers with a Seniors Card to access a 5% discount on storewide purchases.
“We know for people living on fixed incomes every dollar counts. As a government we are committed to driving down the cost of living, especially for seniors, who contribute so much to our communities,” said Berejiklian.

The deal is welcome news for seniors after Mozo reported that living costs for Aussie pensioners had outgrown inflation in August.
The partnership won’t just help older Aussies with their grocery haul, but will extend to a number of other products that Woolies now offers.
“This partnership could save seniors an average of $200 per person on their annual grocery bill, not to mention further discounts on home delivery, clothing and household items from Big W, and mobile phone and insurance products,” said Minister for Ageing, Tanya Davies.
The Premier also urged other retailers and supermarket chains to join the Seniors Card scheme which now has in excess of 1.5 million members.
