Heavy premium increase unexplained and unnecessary

For many years a good experience, although no claims history. 2023 policy renewal presented, without explanation, a 2/3rds increase in basic premium without explanation. Call to company offered the recent floods experience as the reason, although there have been no floods here and my flood risk is no higher than before. They offered to remove flood cover as a way to reduce premium, which seems to me a total avoidance of their commercial responsibilities to customers, As the premium had reached almost unaffordable levels, I shopped around and found another insurer who offered a MAJOR reduction even on last year's premium.
