I have been looking to have cheaper rates and finally wholesale prices that has halved our bill which allows me to enjoy some comforts all year round. Pros, wholesale rates, notifications on current prices on app, monthly bills. Cons? Had to go on waiting list.
Amber gives GREAT energy prices, and great solar feed in tariffs as you get the market rate for what you send to the grid and what you consume from the grid. Our household bill is lower with Amber, even through the summer period. The app is very easy to use and see the current electricity price, and your daily usage and time of day usage also.
Amber’s App is still in development. It has a ‘bill estimate’ feature to show you what the cost of your electricity has been over the last 30 days, but it is not configured to include all the applicable charges, so it is unintentionally misleading to anyone who’s relying on it . Their customer service, however , is second to none. Very personalised, very responsive, and genuinely interested in helping to solve problems. Each staff member takes accountability - you don’t get ticketed and ignored for days on end.
