A part of the M2 Group of companies, Commander Power and Gas is an Australian provider of telecommunications products and utility services. It is licensed to sell electricity and gas in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and the ACT.
Currently, Commander Power and Gas provides electricity to customers in Victoria, NSW and South Australia. If you’re looking for packages offering electricity in one of these states, you may be eligible to apply to Commander Power and Gas.
When you sign up with Commander Power and Gas for your electricity account, you could be eligible for certain deals like a discount if you pay your bills on time. Generally, the terms of the plans could vary a little depending on where exactly you are located. Given that you can opt for a contract with no lock-in period or exit fees, it’s ideal for customers who need the flexibility to move or change their plan whenever they need to.
You will have to make your bill payments in monthly instalments by direct debit from your bank account or credit card. These instalments are estimated based on your previous bills or some simple questions that you can answer if you don’t have a billing history at your current address.
With Commander Power and Gas, you will receive an email informing you that your bill is available to be viewed using their online account management system. If you still want a printed bill in your mail, you will be charged an additional $2.95 per bill quarterly for electricity bills.
If you are having trouble paying your bills, you can call the contact centre at Commander before the due date of your next instalment to discuss other options to help you pay your bill.
You can easily move your energy plan with Commander Power and Gas. If you want to switch from your existing provider, you can call the customer care team at Commander and ask them to arrange for the transfer. You’ll just need to provide them with your full address, contact number and an identification number such as your driver’s licence number. It would also be useful to have a previous energy bill handy. Alternatively, you can also sign up using an online form and an energy consultant will then work on your request. In case you change your mind and want to switch back to your previous provider, you can do so without any penalty or extra fees within a cooling off period of 10 days.
If you’re an existing customer with Commander and you’re moving home, you can arrange for your energy connection to be moved easily. You can call the customer contact centre and give them your current account number and the full address of where you are moving. However, do remember that they will need three business days’ notice to arrange for this transfer so plan accordingly because you don’t want to move into your new house with no electricity!
