Energy Locals is a community focused company on a mission to eliminate traditional energy models while providing Aussies with clean, fair electricity at an affordable price. Once you’ve found your local electricity plan, the social enterprise use profits from your electricity bill to support local charities and community groups.
Energy Locals electricity is currently available to customers in NSW and southeast Queensland but plan to expand to other states.
Energy Locals electricity plans and packages are available for homes and businesses. Once you join, you’ll need to look up local electricity plans within your area and pick one that supports a community or organisation of your choosing. These electricity plans come with no exit fees, lock-in contracts and offer carbon offsets for all your energy use.
You can sign up for an Energy Locals electricity plan by filling out your details online. If you are switching from another provider, you won’t need to do a thing as Energy Locals will send a request to your current provider and free you from your plan. Your electricity supply won’t be affected and you will not be charged until your plan is switched over and your meter is read.
The Mozo communicty has rated Energy Locals products and services on different specifications ranging from pricing and bill clarity to customer satisfaction and green energy.
We have just gone over to energy locals and we have got batteries as well now. I believe it will be great once we get a new meter box. Once we get our first bill I will be happy and find out how it works a bit better. We can pay our battery system off when we see it working a bit better, we have a app to see it is working as well.
When public housing decided solar panels on house I had to change energy provider for 3 yr contract which I disapprove of. Until then have to put up with them. Never heard of this company before.
Seems to get job done without issues and disruptions.
It's a tough market. They started out great but have got more expensive. Not sure if this is in line with rising prices or not. Customer service has generally been good. Had one call where the service agent was hard to understand and didn't action what I requested. The next call cleared it up in no time.
Energy Locals was recommended by my Facebook account, their rates are quite low, daily fee is very good but to receive these deals you must join their club which charges you a monthly fee, only been with them for 3 months will review this deal soon as most providers are increasing their tariffs from 1st August.
