Where does EnergyAustralia provide electricity?

If you live in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia or the ACT, you can apply for electricity as well as gas or dual fuel connections with EnergyAustralia. In Queensland, Energy Australia only offers electricity plans for residential customers.

Sustainable energy

Want to support the production of electricity from government accredited renewable sources such as solar, wind, hydro and biomass? You can switch to clean energy for your home’s electricity needs by choosing the amount of accredited green energy you want EnergyAustralia to purchase on your behalf. The clean energy purchased does not feed directly into your power supply, but is added to the electricity grid on your behalf.

My Account

Perfect for the digital savvy customers, EnergyAustralia lets you create a digital account called My Account, where you can view and manage your electricity plans, track your electricity consumption and pay your bills online.

Flexible payment options

Whether you like making your electricity payments on the Internet, over the phone, by mail or in person, you’ll have every option to choose from with EnergyAustralia. You can pay your bill online using your credit card, BPAY, direct debit or Centrepay. If you want to make the payment in person, you can go to any Australia Post outlet to pay by cash, cheque or EFTPOS.

Tailored instalment plan

Avoid bill shock with EnergyAustralia’s personalised instalment plan. You can choose to spread your electricity bills over regular instalments to make paying your electricity bill more affordable. Simply call an energy consultant to understand the details and activate the option.

Hardship policy

If a customer is having trouble paying their electricity bills because of difficult financial circumstances like losing a job or not being in a position to work because of medical reasons, they can look for support with EnergyAustralia’s hardship policy.

Switching and moving your electricity plan with EnergyAustralia

Switching

New customers will have to provide some information such as your address, contact number and the date you want your connection to begin. You’ll also need to submit an identification document such as a copy of your passport, driver’s licence or Medicare number. Just call the energy executive to make sure that EnergyAustralia provides electricity in your area.

Moving

Existing customers can book their move online or call one of EnergyAustralia’s experts and let them know when and where you are planning to move. Generally, three business days will be required to arrange the transfer. If you have an urgent requirement call and ask the customer service consultant at EnergyAustralia if they can help you make the move sooner.

    Good prices and reliable service.

    Energy Australia provides reasonable customer service, particularly from their staff at the call centres. The prices are pretty competitive, although I think there are cheaper companies out there. They are reliable which makes up for that.

    They’re ok as an energy provider.

    Pros - I've been with the company for over 10 years and always had good customer service when I call them on the phone. We have never had any problems with our gas and electricity service. Cons - They don’t put you on the best deal automatically. If you don’t call up and ask if you are on the best deal, they won’t contact you to inform you of their best deals.
