Who is nectr?

Based in North Sydney, Nectr are an energy retailer that’s all for a cleaner future. In fact, they’re a part of Hanwha Energy, a global energy solution provider that specialises in solar power. Nectr want to keep things fair and easy to understand when it comes to your energy bill.

Where is nectr available?

Nectr is only available to residential customers in New South Wales on a trial basis at the moment.

Although Nectr haven’t launched just yet, they are still giving customers in certain areas the chance to test drive their energy plans. Nectr’s two residential electricity plans include: 

  • A flat/single rate tariff: which is based on your total energy usage each month. 
  • Time of use tariff: which is based on your consumption during peak, shoulder and off-peak. 

Nectr does not offer gas plans for the moment, but the retailer does have plans to launch gas options in mid 2020.

 Nectr like to keep things honest, which is why there are no hidden fees or charges once you sign up to a Nectr energy plan.

They’re also not shy when it comes to giving out freebies. Customers who switch over to Nectr will receive a $200 voucher, and a $50 voucher once you hit your one year anniversary with the retailer, plus a $25 ‘refer a friend’ voucher!

 Nectr are front and centre on the renewable energy front and have invested in solar farms in Victoria and Queensland, with plans to build two new farms in New South Wales

Switching and moving with nectr

If you’d like to join the Nectr community and take part in the trial, all you need to do is sign up, then Nectr will take care of the rest. Once you’ve given the retailer permission to be moved on from your old retailer they will contact them for you and organise the switch. Then there’s a ten business day cooling off period before you become a Nectr customer! 

But because Nectr are still in its early stages, there is no information about moving house.
