About Kogan

Kogan is a relative newcomer to the NBN provider scene, but it certainly hit the ground running. In its fourth year of operation, Kogan has emerged as a star performer in the 2021 Mozo Experts Choice NBN Awards, picking up wins for three of its plans.

Kogan is an online retailer that’s expanded to include internet service in its long list of offerings. Using NBN infrastructure provided by Vodafone, Kogan offers low cost plans across five tiers – Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond – with each offering unlimited data.

As part of their Internet Price Pledge, if you find a better broadband plan offered by an approved major provider – with the same inclusions and conditions as Kogan’s plans – Kogan will give you back double the difference in price. If you apply for the pledge and are approved, you’ll receive a voucher that’s worth the doubled price difference between the NBN plans to spend on Kogan products that’s valid for three months.

Another noteworthy feature is the ability to earn Qantas points with your Kogan internet plan. As long as you have linked your internet account to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account, you’ll get 1 Qantas Point for every $2 you spend on your Kogan NBN plan.

And with no lock-in contracts, you’ll be able to switch to a different Kogan NBN plan to match your changing internet requirements without being charged a fee for the convenience.

Offering speeds of 25Mbps during peak hours and unlimited data for $63.90 a month, the Bronze Unlimited plan is good for small households of up to three people who don’t use the internet excessively. For activities like basic browsing and SD video and music streaming, this plan will perform exceptionally well. In Mozo’s 2021 awards, the Bronze plan was a winner in the Standard (NBN 25) category.

This plan would suit slightly larger households with higher internet use on activities like online gaming and HD streaming, or anyone who works from home and requires fast, reliable internet speeds. The Silver plan has advertised typical evening speeds of 50Mbps and unlimited data for $68.90 a month, and it took home an award in Mozo’s Standard Plus (NBN 50) category.

  • 90Mbps typical evening speed
  • $78.90 per month
  • No set-up fee if you BYO modem

Kogan’s Gold option took out a Fast (NBN 100) Mozo award in 2021, and it’s a real winner if you’re organising the NBN plan for a large household with multiple devices connected simultaneously. The unlimited data allowance coupled with 90Mbps evening speeds should allow you to stream 4K videos and upload and download large files on top of your usual internet browsing, plus you’ll get all this for $78.90 per month!

Other Kogan NBN plans

In addition to its Mozo Experts Choice Award-winning plans, Kogan offers a few higher NBN plan tiers. The Platinum and Diamond plans are suitable for heavy internet users, so if you’re a serial scroller and online creator, you might want to consider and compare these beside Kogan’s other broadband plans below.

How to sign up with Kogan

To sign up for an internet plan with Kogan, you’ll need to first choose one of their five plans. Once you’ve settled on the option that suits you and your internet needs, you’ll be required to provide your address to check if NBN is available in the area.

Then, you’ll have the option between purchasing a Kogan WiFi modem for $69 along with the plan or using your own NBN compatible modem at no extra cost. After this point, you’ll need to hand over the standard personal and payment details, then you’ll be good to go.
