Samsung has just announced the launch of new versions of its their two foldable phones - the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. These phones will be available from 18 August 2023 but are already available for preorder.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is a modern take on the old school flip phones we all know and love. Unlike the old flip phones, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip phones can do everything that today’s smartphones can do, but the bonus is that they can fold in half, making them more convenient to carry around. You can even use the phone when it is folded to do various things such as reply to messages, make calls and check the weather!

Alternatively, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 folds in half like a book. This means that when it is folded, it has a screen that is a similar size to a regular smartphone but it can be unfolded to be much bigger, like a tablet. 

The other main difference between the two is price. This is because the Galaxy Fold 5 has more advanced technology as well as a much larger screen when it is unfolded which means it basically doubles as a tablet. Compare the features and prices below.

The Galaxy Flip 5 retails for $1,649 and the price for the Galaxy Fold 5 starts at $2,599 for the 12GB/256GB model.
