ME bank saved us when we needed it the most and for an incredibly competitive rate, we are forever grateful for the no fuss service ME bank has provided us over the years.
Avoid at all costs. They botched my personal loan repayments, and when I was 6 months out from finishing my loan, I get a call telling me I owed another $4000 and they wanted to extend my loan for another 6 months - I ALWAYS paid my minimum repayment and often more. Absolute scam artists. I of course wasn't having it, and I got a solution, but it took a lot of stress and advocating on my own behalf to get that resolution. And they refused to give me a breakdown of all my repayments and interest charged over the period of the loan - very strange and I'm sure they're hiding something there.
Quick service, easy to sign up and very happy with the rates. Will stick with them
Never have I ever been so stressed in my life. I called to get a payout figure and pay the personal loan out as a requirement of my mortgage. I explained this to ME Bank during our phone conversation, that the fund would be coming from a 3rd party to pay it out, once this hit I would then close the account. Not sure what happened, but ME Bank took the outstanding loan amount from my personal bank account which then left in in a massive $6k negative with no money at all for the weekend. No resolution at all other than, they would pay the the fees that would be charged for the account being in such a huge debit. Absolutely disgusted is an understatement, I will never use this bank again and will strongly urge everyone I know to steer clear.
ME Bank is amazing.
ME Bank for me was an ethical choice with the knowledge that I was getting a good interest rate. I like the idea that ME banks profits go back to help support our super funds. Lovely bank.
No extra fees on early pay out.
This bank is easy to deal with, they listen to what you want and package according to your needs. They are accessible and easy to understand.
They helped me at a time of need whereas my regular bank never helped.
The fee is enormous.
Longstanding customer, good rates and easy to deal with.
ME bank - savings for Union members, currently no processing fee for union members and an extremely low personal loan interest rate.
I love ME Bank, they are so easy to deal with and they keep you up-to-date with everything that is happening with your loan. The documents are easy to complete and even though it is all online, you can always ring and speak to someone who is able to help you.
How long does it take to approve a Personal Loan, so far it's been two weeks with text messages, request more info and to call back.....Hello why can't you call me, the answer can be provided and the loan application finalised. All this is too frustrating, if I knew that I wouldn't have applied with the slowest bank in Australia, I would have gone elsewhere. Wouldn't it be more professional if the staff reviewed your whole application then advised what other information is required, so far I've had 3 SMSs requesting more info and were now two weeks since I submitted the application. Last SMS was three days ago, I called them straight away and it was that I forgot to add the application fee of $250 on the amount I required...I said yes. Now you would have thought I would have received the final document to sign. Nope haven't heard a thing; Sorry ME your Management or processes needs a review. I have no problem with the call centre staff they've always been friendly and helpful...just your process on getting applications approved!!
During the life of my personal loan I went through many life changes. I was unemployed for 6 months during which I travelled overseas for 3 months. This is my second loan through ME Bank , and every time I rang to explain a difficulty, they had solutions and were always willing to be flexible.

WARNING: The Comparison Rate combines the lender's interest rate, fees and charges into a single rate to show the true cost of a personal loan. The comparison rates displayed are calculated based on a loan of $30,000 for a term of 5 years or a loan of $10,000 for a term of 3 years as indicated, based on monthly principal and interest repayments, on a secured basis for secured loans and an unsecured basis for unsecured loans. This comparison rate applies only to the example or examples given. Different amounts and terms will result in different comparison rates. Costs such as redraw fees or early repayment fees, and cost savings such as fee waivers, are not included in the comparison rate but may influence the cost of the loan.
