How to watch the top sporting events in Australia right now

Men watching sport

Sports lovers are currently spoiled with choice with all the major sporting events happening right now. From the Women’s World Cup being hosted right here on Aussie soil, to the start of the men’s Premier League in England as well as the final weeks of both the NRL and AFL!

If you’re keen to watch all of the big games going on at the moment, we have all the information on what’s on and where you can watch it.

Of course the most talked about sporting event at the moment is the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Roy Morgan’s data found that the Matildas quarter final win against France last Saturday was the highest-rating TV program so far this year. In addition, according to Channel 7, the Wednesday night semi-final against England was the most watched TV program since 2001 when the current ratings system started.

While the Matilda’s are sadly out of the running to win the cup, they still have a chance to finish 3rd overall. This much anticipated game against Sweden happens on Saturday, 19 August.

And let’s not forget that the grand final game between England and Spain is being held this Sunday, 20 August. We may all still be a bit down that Australia isn’t in the final, however their last match is a great chance to support them and also enjoy the quality play of Sweden.

As well as women’s football, the English Premier League season has just started and the NRL and AFL seasons are drawing to a close in Australia. Here’s all the information on the big upcoming sporting games and where you can watch them!
