Tango Energy was founded in 2012 and is the retail branch of Pacific Hydro Australia. Pacific Hydro Australia is responsible for developing and operating wind, solar and hydro farms across Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
Tango Energy currently offer electricity to residential customers and businesses in Victoria and New South Wales.
Tango Energy plans offer competitive market rates without the need for complex discounts. All plans have no lock-in contracts and provide a one-year benefit period, where rates are fixed for one year.
Victorian customers can choose from the Home/Business Select plan or the Tango Blue plan. The Tango Blue is GreenPower accredited, meaning for every amount of electricity used by the customer, an equal amount of certificates are purchased in renewables. New South Wales customers are offered the Home/Business Select plan.
Tango Energy is committed to low energy costs with a clear conscience. As they're owned by Pacific Hydro (one of Australia’s largest renewable energy generators) – by supporting Tango, you are supporting renewable energy in Australia.
Tango also offers a GreenPower accredited plan – Tango Blue – where an equivalent amount of energy used by the customer is purchased from renewable energy sources. This again contributes to Australia’s growing renewable energy sector, helping us achieve a greener future.
With Tango Energy, you can choose from a number of payment options such as direct debit, BPAY and Credit Card. You also have the option to pay your bill in person at any Australia Post office branch. Alternatively, you can mail a cheque or money order along with your payment slip to their Melbourne address.
Tango Energy offers a range of concessions for its energy customers. Rebates are state-based, and you will need to look up the eligibility criteria for each scheme individually. Some common concessions include low-income rebates, pensioner concession and medical concession.
If you think you are eligible for any of the concessions, call the hotline number on the Tango Energy website for further information.
If you want to move or switch your electricity plan to Tango Energy, you will need to complete an online application or call its customer service hotline.
The Mozo community has rated Tango Energy products and services on different specifications ranging from pricing and bill clarity to customer satisfaction and green energy.
How are Tango Energy rated by the Mozo community?
It is not obvious how competative they are. Being told you have a X% discount is nonsense. The only number that counts is cost per KW hour and it is not easy to find that price
Love tango. Have been with them for years. Competitive every time have gas with them too
Reliable and supportive energy provider. Always efficient to respond and provide alternative options where needed
Been with them for a year, few issues when I first started with getting billed the wrong amount as they hadn't charged me for the offer I had signed for and instead charged me for a more expensive plan...took a day to get sorted but no issues since.
was good on price at first but now will be checking to see if i can get a better deal because the price seems to have risen quite dramatically
