Key features:

With Bankwest’s Building Insurance you won’t have trouble receiving cover for any accidental loss, damage or breakage of glass along with 14 unpredictable events, ranging from fires and floods to theft or burglary, vandalism and riots or civil commotion. However, if you’ve got any future renovation plans, it’s important to know that you won’t get cover for building materials or if your home suffers from a storm surge.

You’ll also get legal liability cover for up to $20,000,000 and temporary accommodation for you and your pet if your home becomes unlivable.

Bankwest Building Insurance provides cover up to the sum insured amount for your gates, fences and landscaping along with any needed structural improvements, lock replacements, debris removal, demolition costs or temporary repairs.

Plus, if you often worry that your home hasn’t been insured with the correct value, you can rest easy as Bankwest also offers underinsurance protection of up to 25% of the sum insured amount.

Who it's good for:

Bankwest Building Insurance is a good choice for anyone looking to protect their home against many of life’s unforeseeable events. It’s also available Australia-wide so no matter where you live, you’ll be able to take out a policy.

Any catches?

One of the things you should know is that Bankwest’s Building Insurance does not offer new for old replacement. This means that should any item be damaged or stolen from your home, Bankwest will not provide you with a new replacement or make any repairs, it will pay out the sum insured amount.

There are always exclusions with any insurance policy so to make sure that your home will be adequately covers, be sure to read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) before signing on the dotted line.
