Their products and customer service is next to non

I found initionally the bank had opened the wrong account and were charging me fee's. I approached them and they quickly rectified the problem and refunded half of the fees as I am on a pension. I have had problems with other banks auto teller's not giving over the money, so I spoke to my branch. They didn't hesitate to advance the money I was short changed till the matter was resolved. I have often recommended them to everyone who complaines about their bank. I have been with lots of other banks but the BOQ is the best I have found.

Management needs to be hauled over the coals!

This used to be a great bank. The last six months or so they have been a nightmare due to their call centre! Wait times of over an hour to speak with customer consultants. No call back option. Mind numbingly repetative music, of the type they piped into prisoners cells during the war to soften them up prior to torturing them for information. A message regarding unusually high call volumes that they have played for months. This being an insult to customers intelligence. If its been going that long it is usual, not unusual!!! They have received complaints but the unacceptable situation remains. What kind of management needs a year to correct a situation as simple as this? In all fairness, once you eventually get through to a consultant the sevice is excellent and I genuinely pity their consultants who now have to deal with customers who are irate through the frustration of having to hang on the phone for over an hour before they can speak to anyone.
