Key features:

The SCU Low Rate Visa Credit Card is a fantastic option for the budget conscious spender, thanks to its 10.49% purchase and cash advance rate. The $30 annual fee is very affordable,  but the $25 late payment fee is important to keep in mind along with the $4 cash advance fee.

If it’s built up debt that has you interested in the SCU Low Rate Visa Credit Card, the good news is there is no balance transfer fee. But keep in mind that transferred balances will attract interest at the regular 10.49% interest rate.

With the SCU Low Rate Visa Credit Card, you’ll have up to 55 interest free days and be able to pay at 24 million locations worldwide, while being able to make payments through payWave. As a cardholder, you’ll also have access to Visa Entertainment and a minimum credit limit of $1,000.

Who it's good for:

The SCU Low Rate Visa Credit Card is a good choice for anyone who isn’t really interested in rewards or perks and is after a convenient, low rate card.

Any catches?

If you are looking to use the SCU Low Rate Visa Credit Card to clear any built up debt, unlike other credit cards, there is no interest free period on balance transfers. Instead, you will have a starting and ongoing rate of 10.49%, which you’ll need to factor into your budget.

I love the Sutherland Credit Union as they are helpful when you are at the counter with tellers. They are great when you ring up to get help or if you have a problem or are not sure on how to do something. We have been with this credit union for around 40 years and have always been very pleased to deal with them.
