Based in the Australian Capital Territory, ActewAGL was set up in 2000. Along with supplying electricity and natural gas to homes and small businesses, ActewAGL also provides renewable energy for people looking to switch to green power.
ActewAGL caters to energy needs of residents as well as small businesses across Canberra, Queanbeyan and southern NSW. If you’re looking for packages offering electricity, gas or green energy in one of these areas, you may be eligible to apply to ActewAGL.
You can choose from a number of individual electricity and natural gas packages as well as dual services offered by ActewAGL in ACT as well as NSW. The different plans vary depending on factors like how long your contract is for and if you go for a standard package or one that offers rewards for paying on time.
If you’ve been wanting to switch to clean energy, you can look up ActewAGL Solar, which will also help reduce your electricity bills and save money in the long run. ActewAGL can install your solar energy system with a 5-year workmanship warranty.
You can pick from several payment options such as direct debit, BPAY, Credit Card, phone banking and Centrepay as per your convenience. You can also post your cheque with your payment slip. If you’d rather go yourself to make the payment you can go to any Post Office or an ACTewAGL store to pay by cash, cheque or EFTPOS.
You can register for a digital account with ActewAGL epayplus, which allows you to pay bills, view your payment history and check consumption details.
You could be eligible for a number of rebate schemes offered by ActewAGL on behalf of the ACT and NSW governments. Generally, if there is a price rise, the rebates also increase by the percentage increase of the particular service. These rebates mostly cater to people who hold a current Pensioner Concession card, Health Care card or Veterans' Affairs gold card and/or are dependent on life support equipment.
You will have the flexibility to move or switch your energy account with ActewAGL. The process is fairly simple, however, you will still need to check on the eligibility criteria for connections in specific regions.
When you are moving your account from one address to another, you can simply fill out an online form giving the details of your existing account and requirements for your new home so your account can be moved accordingly.
If you plan to switch to ActewAGL, you will need to provide personal identification documents such as a copy of your your passport, driver’s license, Medicare card, pension card or credit card. You will also need to give your National Metering Identifier (NMI number), which should be mentioned on your current bill. Once you confirm ActewAGL as your energy supplier, they will notify your current provider and the switch will be arranged for when your meter is due for its next reading. But don’t worry, this does not result in disconnection or interruption to your energy supply.
