What’s covered?

With a CBA car insurance policy in your pocket, you’re protected for a bunch of different events, including:

  • Collision or impact damage
  • Fire
  • Theft or attempted theft of your car
  • Storm, hail or flood damage
  • Vandalism of your car
  • The theft of your keys
  • Liability of up to $20 million

What’s not?

Certain things are excluded from your car insurance cover. In general, your policy won’t cover the devaluation of your car due to aging, or regular wear and tear. Your CBA Car Insurance policy also doesn’t include cover for:

  • Roadside assistance
  • Damage to commercial signage
  • Rental car liability

There are also some things that aren’t covered under your regular policy, but can be added as optional extras, including special modifications made to your vehicle or the cost of a hire car after an accident.

How much does CBA Car Insurance cost?

There are a few different things that might affect how much you pay for your CBA Car Insurance policy. These include:

Premium

Some things that might determine how much your CBA Car Insurance premium is, include:

  • Your car’s make, model, series and year of manufacture
  • Your car’s value, including the value of any modifications or accessories
  • Whether you choose to be insured for the market or agreed value of your car
  • The age and gender of the drivers
  • Where your vehicle is parked overnight

Discounts

Everyone loves a discount, and they can really help to knock a few bucks off your insurance bill. At CBA Car Insurance, you can snag a no-claims discount, as well as a discount for buying your policy online.

Excess

You can choose to pay either a low or high excess on your CBA Car Insurance policy but remember: if you opt for low excess, you’ll pay a higher premium, and vice versa.

Also, keep in mind that there’s an extra excess if the person driving your car is under 25, not listed on your policy or has held a licence for less than two years.

How do I pay my premium?

When you take out a CBA Car Insurance policy, you can either pay your premium as one lump sum each time you renew your policy, or you can choose to pay on a monthly basis at no extra cost.

CBAI untrustworthy. Request excess when no fault .

My vehicle was parked correctly in a parking station and someone drove into it and left his details and admitted liability. Completed CBAI claim online. Ticked box to state car was parked in parking station and hit by another car. Next question in online claim form " Who was driving your car at the time?" "Nobody. The car was parked." I provided the other driver's details online to CBAI. They sent me a claim number and their bank acct details for me to pay $1600 excess when I have just completed the online form stating someone hit my parked car , admitted liability and I provided his details. 3 emails disputing this with CBAI were ignored. I rang CBAI today and , yes, they had received my emails but, no, they weren't going to waive my excess as their policy documents stated they would, until I rang and agitated. CBAI was just trying it on. Totally untrustworthy company. Avoid.
