Have been with Westpac for a while now, and have never had a problem.
One of the major disadvantages is that SWSCU have strict policies about everyday banking, unlike the freedom of other banks. For example, who knew you have to get permission to pay more than $1000 per day via BPay, when paying bills?? Good old fashion country customer service, which is nice, but sometimes frustrating with the limitations.

As a general transaction account, the St George Complete Freedom account is pretty good. It provides a good level of features and has the advantage of branch and atm access. Also it allows me to send money overseas, from the online console. The only disadvantage it has is you need to deposit $2,000 a month, which I couldn't do for many months. This fee ate into my savings and St George didn't have a no fee account as an alternative.
