Don't use Unity insurance

I was hit in my car by a driver insured by Australian Unity. We were in a car park at the time. It was 19/12/22 The back passenger door was destroyed The insurance company made contact the same day providing details of the car repair shop to go to AND assuring me that I would be provided with a hire car for the duration of the repair. We attended the repair shop the next day and were told that the car would be fixed in early Jan 23 BTW my husband has just had a knee replacement so is not highly mobile By 6/1/23 I had heard nothing from the insurance company and needed to expedite the repair Saw the repair ship on 6/1/23 who checked all the details and got the "go ahead" from the insurance company to start repairs the following Monday (9/1/23) Delivered the car at 7.30am 9/1/23 - no problem HOWEVER the insurance company had NOT approved the hire car (they're in Perth - 3 hours behind dont you know? and it'll be several hours before the assessor gets there to approve the hire car To summarise - I was NOT the at fault driver (she was having a bad day she said) but I was significantly inconvenienced by NOT having a car for an entire day, and out of pocket by $50 (cab) so we could return to our place. My husband (with his new knee) then had to get to the physio on foot AS WE STILL HAD NO CAR. NINE PHONE CALLS were needed before we got approval for a hire car. I hope you send me a survey and get measured on net promoter. You'll be getting a highly dissatisfied and wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy from me. What a waste of our holiday - an entire day.

Australian Unity Comprehensive Cover

Discounts for health insurance membership!

I choose Australian Unity for both my health and car insurance. I have never had issues with them. While I’ve not had to make a vehicle accident claim, I’ve found that their comprehensive policy was good value and qualifies for health insurance policy discounts. I like their pay by month option as well.
