RAC Contents Insurance will give you peace of mind that your possessions will be insured in the event that something goes wrong, with cover for a number of possible events including storms, fires, acts of vandalism and even floods. While you won’t be covered for power or storm surges, RAC does provide accidental damage cover (say if you manage to crack your tv screen) as an optional extra.From your antiques to the tools you use for work, the RAC Contents Insurance policy provides generous cover limits for a heap of your valuables. Any cash you have in your house will be covered for up to $200, as will your watches and jewellery (up to $2,000 an item) and even the contents of your home office (up to $5,000). The policy also provides up to $500 worth of cover for the replacement of your home’s locks if your keys are are lost or stolen.
If a covered event does occur, RAC will provide temporary accommodation (up to 10% sum insured) for your family and pets for up to 12 months, plus it will replace your contents with new equivalents (where possible) under the new for old replacement cover.You’ll also be eligible for a number of discounts with an RAC Contents Insurance policy, including $35 off your premium if you sign up online, and up to 25% off your policy if you have an RAC monitored security alarm.
