Does RACT travel insurance have COVID-19 coverage?

RACT’s comprehensive international travel insurance policy does come with COVID-19 benefits, but this is only if you catch the virus overseas and need help paying for medical bills or cancellations. For domestic policies, limits apply to cancellation claims due to COVID-19, and customers on a domestic cancellations or rental car excess policy aren’t eligible to make pandemic-related claims.

The exact terms of your coverage are outlined in the PDS on the RACT website.

What other optional extras can I add to my RACT policy?

RACT travel insurance offers optional extras to tailor your coverage, including cruise and adventure sports insurance like skiing.

Are pre-existing medical conditions covered under RACT’s travel insurance?

RACT travel insurance automatically covers several pre-existing medical conditions. However, conditions may apply as to when you were diagnosed and the severity of the condition. You can read a full list of eligibility criteria in the PDS, but if you don’t see yours, don’t worry: you may just have to enquire with RACT specifically. RACT may cover your condition for an additional premium.

You must inform RACT of your pre-existing conditions during the sign-up process to be eligible for coverage. Certain conditions will not receive coverage at all.
