Video game wishlist: World of Warcraft, Gotham Knights and more

Got a teenage gamer in the family but need help deciding which game to get this Christmas? Have no fear - we’ve rounded up the latest video games on the market to spread the joy-con this season.

Before deciding on what to buy, double-check your gamer’s preferred console. The last thing you want is a subscription to the newest World of Warcraft Dragonflight expansion, only to find out they play exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.

This is the ninth expansion to Blizzard’s massively popular multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft. Players explore this expansion's mystical Dragon Isles in Azeroth and its ancient secrets.

With hundreds of hours of potential gameplay, this is perfect for teenagers looking for something to do with their lengthy time over summer. 

Dragonflight is available digitally as a Base edition ($59.95), a Heroic edition ($89.95) and an Epic edition ($119.95).

A Plague Tale: Requiem

This action-adventure survival horror game is perfect for those who love Last of Us and BioShock. The story follows two homeless orphans escaping the hands of the Inquisition while in a world facing the black plague. This game is ideal for older teens as it can have scary scenes that might not be suitable for younger children.

A Plague Tale: Requiem has several The Game Awards nominations, including  Game of the Year. So it's a must have and play. 

The game is available digitally on Steam for $69.95. It’s also available for Playstation and Xbox

Gotham Knights

In this role-playing action game, you play as Batman’s sidekicks–Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin and Red Robin. After Batman dies, his protegees must rise and protect Gotham from the clutches of iconic villains like Harley Quinn and Doctor Freeze.

This is the perfect game for a DC Comics fan who wants something similar to Marvel’s Spider-Man.

God of War Ragnarok

God of War Ragnarok is the direct sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War. This action-adventure roleplaying game follows the story of Kratos and his son Atreus trying to survive (and stop) Ragnarok. 

Travel across the magical Norse realms as the father and son duo take on the Norse gods and rescue those who have been imprisoned. This game is excellent for those who enjoyed Horizon Zero Dawn and the PS4 God of War.

This is a comedic biopunk first-person shooter game where you travel to several biomes and locations across the cosmos to go up against the evil Garmantous. This game was made by Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland and offers the same goofy style as the famed cartoon.

High on Life is perfect for those who enjoy playing Fortnite and Overwatch 2.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Splatoon 3

This is great for fans of Minecraft, Overwatch 2 and Fortnite.
