Now that Black Friday sales have drawn to a close, we start looking forward to the next major sales event - Boxing Day!

Boxing Day is the name given to the day after Christmas Day (December 26) and traditionally retailers would start their sales on the 26th and they would only last for a day.

These days, the Boxing Day sales are no longer a one day event, with many retailers starting their sales early and continuing them well into January.

Retailers use the Boxing Day sales as an opportunity to get rid of any stock they didn't sell prior to Christmas. So of course, the length of the sale depends on how much stock they have and how quickly it sells out. 

Boxing Day sales remain one of Australia’s biggest shopping events, with most retailers offering pretty good deals. It is the perfect opportunity to treat yourself one last time before the new year and make the most of any cash you were given at Christmas.
