My experience with CBA Insurance has been highly disappointing. I invested thousands of dollars over the years, expecting support in times of trouble caused by storms or leaks. The company employs questionable practises by collaborating with fake builders who seem to benefit from a partnership with this dubious insurance provider. Their assessment reports consistently blame issues on "lake of maintenance or tear and ware," a dubious reason that lacks transparency and fairness. I filed two claims, and both were met with the same unfavorable outcome, attributing the problems to maintenance issues or wear and tear. The first claim forced me to personally spend $21,000 to fix the problem. Even after patiently waiting for two years for the second claim, it yielded the same result, showcasing a lack of commitment to customer satisfaction. It's disheartening that CBA allows such practises in its insurance division, tarnishing the bank's reputable image. I strongly advise others to steer clear of this company, as it appears to engage in practises that can only be described as robbery.
Insured for over 20 years, never made a claim,we felt comfort in believing we had taken every possible step in life to protect our selves and property if the unforseen was to ever to happen. Since following the Oct 2022 floods where our home and all our contents were completely inundated with the catastrophic disastrous floods we have since discovered it is not that easy. Left homeless following the floods we have had to fight so hard for CBA to pay for temporary accommodation. We found our own accommodation as CBA insurance made no attempt to assist us in finding somewhere to live. At no time did they offer to assist with clean up or send any representative from their company. They did eventually start sending incompetent building service providers out to do sow. Wow they tried to lowball us then didn't even have a project manager, then another building company were employed. Strip out of house DID Not occur for 4 and a half months following the floods. Nine months after the floods finally a loss adjuster and other service providers appointed by CBA met us at the property. Yes 9 months it took for a loss adjuster to turn up. Once again SOW were supposed to be completed but it's almost 12 months, yes you are reading right 12 months and apparently none of these so called professionals have submitted their SOW, or so CBA insurance claim. Delays delays Lies and more lies. Meanwhile trying to ring anyone about the claim , put on hold for two hours then get fed false information, Noone person on the same page. We get ignored constantly. Have tried to ask the question if our temporary accommodation will be continuing after the 52 weeks, no answer. We have four weeks left of our 52 weeks paid accommodation left then what. Homelessness. We are left with a shell of a house that's inhabitable. So much for the warm fuzzy feeling of feeling secure because you have insurance. Biggest trauma of our lives we have been through and we have been treated terrible. Not what we planned for our retirement.
While they are very quick to organise repairs they are not interested in sourcing competitive quotes or competition to ensure the customer and insurance company is not being over charged. Communicating is lacking requires to the customer to continually phone and wait in a queue each time to make sure they don't just send the first company they source and hence premiums increase each year. I requested their quotes for repairs many times and they were never provided. After much insistence I was able to organise my own quote and repairer.
Great value! My premium actually went down! And it’s excellently priced. The call centre staff are really empathetic and the claims process was pain-free, simple and super quick.
Had the incorrect number of claims over a 2 year period. Included claims that were double ups. Would not remove claims that had been counted twice. Then withdrew accidental claim on our policy.
CommInsure were not only the cheapest for our Home & Contents but also covered more that other competitors. I was able to tailor my insurance to suit our needs which reduced the premium cost.
Insurance was easy to obtain at a competitive price and enjoy the monthly payments at no extra cost option as it is easier to budget. At this stage have not made a claim. Did recently have to change details and was easy over the phone. The staff also helped me review the level of cover and options during this phone call. Great to be able to have all my insurance on the CBA banking app.
Put in a claim for a lightning strike which blew most of our TV's and accessory devices. Sent the reports in from the electrical shop and received a letter on the 6th of May to say the claim was accepted. It's now late July and I haven't heard anything about this claim since. Did get to speak to a claims person on the 20th June who said it could be finalised in 10 mins - that's now 5 weeks ago. Why does a 10-minute task take 5 weeks? I know there's been persons far worse off than us with flooding; etc. but my patience has slowly evaporated.
Customer service is terrible and also made us wait a whole month and decline our request. We are from Perth and they don’t even have face to face meeting and have to wait at least an hour for a quick phone call. Will definitely change to other better insurance company. Do not waste your time and money!
Reneged on a claim for water damage caused by a broken waste water pipe from a bathroom. Started straight after the earthquake. Stalled for months before rejecting the claim. Our cost is about $30,000 offered $3,000 take it or leave it.
For 10 weeks I’ve asked for a simple letter against a third part and they have ignored me. If they can’t even give me a letter admitting they don’t cover a issue so I can sue some one else who is at fault. Good luck getting any help from them. I have three houses covered and a car insurance and a lone loan and still they ignore me. Go some were else. Good luck when major issues happen. 2 days I’d called and never got a calm back.
We put in a claim in early Feb this year it is now may and still has yet to be resolved. There has been no communication from them only when I call them. Every time I do they tell me I need to send more information they have the builder's report and the plumbing report but now they say the reports don't have enough information on them. Once I have my outcome I will be changing. They charge way too much and they have poor customer skills. They don't speak English well enough to understand them. I do not recommend it.
Staff at comminsure were poorly trained and difficult to understand. My quoted price was fine but tying up the loose ends, which shouldn't have been all that hard, was almost impossible. It was all because staff were difficult to understand and didn't seem to know what to do. It was frustrating and we had to move on to another insurer simply because it was all too hard.
They consistently overprice our insurance year after year it goes up ridiculously. We have to call them every year to get it back down to a “fair” price. Our land is at the same level as everyone else in the street yet we pay 5 times the insurance because out backyard touches flood water (we live on top highest point of the slope land) if we go under in a flood (never has come anywhere close to our house..impossible) the rest of the street is going under too! Extremely unfair!
They always handle my claims and I like the customer service I receive.
