Second claim and second time wasted my time with no results, what’s the point of your cover then?
I paid my monthly premiums for 10 years. When i finally made a claim due to water damage from a burst pipe, they advised that since the assessed damage exceeded $20k, claim would need to be reviewed by a "claim specialist". They then took 3 weeks before denying the claim on spurious grounds. Basically a financial scam where they take your premiums and when you finally need the insurance, they deny your claim. Great business model. Avoid these scam artists
Received home insurance renewal which is 32% higher than last year .Been with them for years ,never made a claim. Complained about it and they would not change it.
YOUI ARE VERY EASY TO TALK TO AND EXCELLENT WHEN YOU PUT IN A CLAIM
Just received our home and contents insurance and we staggered beyond belief that the amount had increased by 26% in one year. We have been with Youi over 10 years and never made a claim. With inflation running at between 7 and 9% over the last 12 months, how can they justify such a large increase. This smacks of a money grab so they can increase their profits to pay exorbitant salaries to the Board Members, CEO and executives and all their advertisements on TV. Will be looking elsewhere for insurance.
Avoid. Poor service, damage property and then refuse renewal affecting your insurability for years. About to commence legal proceedings. Wish I had never heard of this company.
I had both car & home/ content policy with youi, over the last year (2022-2023) the price has gone through the roof with no justified explanation, up by 32%. No changes in my situation & never made a claim. NO loyalty from youi NO loyalty from me!! I shopped around and found 4 other insurance companies much much cheaper.
They use to be called YOUI - You Insured. They slipped to YOUI - You do it all for yourself - we don't help. Now I just call them YOUI the terrible. Their claims handling is non-existent. They do not inspect the repair work - so the results are shoddy. Then they accuse you of not performing routine maintenance. In this way they can deny your claim.
Youi Insurance is such a joke. I sought quotes to insure my investment house for $414,000. Youi quoted $5,200 against Comminsure $1,630, Allianze about $1,900 and RACQ about $2,700. I now laugh every time I see a Youi advertisement on TV.
Unfortunately the YOUI online assessment was a total SHAM Their questionnaire asked for our email and phone number - said they weren’t mandatory, however at the end of the questionnaire it stated “WE HAVE SENT A TEXT TO YOUR PHONE”. I was confused as I was sure I hadn’t actually provided my phone number. No text arrived and There was a link stating click here to resend. I clicked, and a box came up requesting my phone number, which I typed in. A security code arrived, which I typed into the quote and when I pressed continue the following page was just a YOUI advertisement. This left me totally confused. Within a minute I received a call from YOUI requiring a whole lot of extra information - including my email and date of birth. My complaint is that this is not and online quote process - and the way they trap you into revealing your phone number is blatantly dishonest in my opinion. The quote they provided over the phone was 30% HIGHER than another company who did allow a full online process.
I've an insurance claim that should have been sorted in less than 3 days and around $3000 it's around 15 months now and I'd guess around $100000 and its still not finished .
If you want to do a quote online, don't bother, they will get you so far and then insist on calling you. Part of the quote is to get a pin sent to your phone - apparently for them to then reveal the quote. Not so, it is so that within less than a minute they call you. If I wanted to speak to someone or follow up on a quote, I would call. Then over the course of the day, they called not once, but 3 times - so very intrusive.
Poor communication from Claims department, then told we are not the only one we are part of 1000's who have put in a claim - then told "No you can't speak to a manager, YOUi does not escalate complaints" She offered to put in an online complaint - really about herself - I doubt that even happened. No one calls, no one communicates with you and if you call - they say " you are one of 1000's and you are in the queue - so please wait your turn" Poor, shoddy, very Poor, absent customers service! But hey no one to talk to anyway and you are in a queue with 000's before you! Really disappointing!
The customer service at Youi is very good in my experience and as I have yet to make any claim I would expect they would live up to a good stress free experience there too. The premiums are very affordable and fair compared to the others I was quoted so very happy and confident we are covered.
