The ANZ Access Advantage account is your standard bank account with unlimited ANZ ATM access, internet and phone banking. It has a $5 monthly service fee but this is waived if you deposit $2000 into your account each month. The account comes with the option to get an image of your choice on your ATM card for free, so this could be Fluffy or Buster's chance to finally score a place in your wallet.

Key features

There are no minimum opening deposits or minimum balance requirements with an ANZ Access Advantage account. You'll get unlimited transactions from ANZ ATMs, phone and internet banking, full branch access, and EFTPOS.

As with most everyday transaction accounts, the ANZ Access Advantage account has minimal interest on balances: 0% on balances under $50,000, 0.01% above $50,000 and 0.02% over $100,000.

The ANZ Access Advantage account comes with a Visa Debit Card and PayWave access, so you'll be able to make transactions under $100 by simply flashing your card or phone. Plus, Visa debit transactions are covered by ANZ's Falcon Fraud Protection monitoring, so you'll have peace of mind when online shopping. You'll also be able to make payments using Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay.

If you're heading overseas you'll need to plan carefully if you want to avoid high fees with the ANZ Access Advantage. Overseas ATM withdrawals cost $5 a pop and there is also a 3.00% foreign exchange commission on all international transactions.

Who is it good for

The ANZ Access Advantage is a great everyday transaction account option, especially if you're after full branch access on a regular basis, as all over the counter and teller assistance is included in the $5 monthly fee.

Plus, if you deposit over $2000 into your account each month, then the monthly account fee will be waived.

Any catches

The ANZ Access Advantage account comes with a $1,000 daily ATM withdrawal limit, so you'll need to plan in advance if you're going to make any large withdrawals.

    Great bank when you're young!

I have been with ANZ since I started my first job which is well over 16 years. I have always banked with them and have never strayed. I feel like they could really benefit from looking after customers like myself. I am now at the age where I am researching what other bank provide better services as I feel I could be treated better. Overall, they are a great bank to start out with but looking at other options when you get older is key!

    Daily driver without being special.

ANZ is good. It's Australia and New Zealand wide. You know they have solid experience in looking after you. I never have to call because I can do everything online. The account doesn't get me any rewards points, etc. which is the only downside. But occasionally I forgot to transfer money and they'll text me if it's overdrawn so I can fix it without being charged fees.

    Loyalty doesn't pay

We have been with our bank for 20 + years, but they don't seem to give any better treatment for our loyalty.
