Mozo Review   St.George Complete Freedom Account Review

Last updated: 18 January 2019.

What's hot:
  • Unlimited over the counter transactions

  • $50 limited time cashback offer

What's not:
  • $5 monthly fee

  • $4 periodic payment charges

Mozo snapshot:

If you want complete freedom with your everyday banking such as unlimited branch access, unlimited transactions and ATM withdrawals, then the St.George Complete Freedom account could be for you. Plus for a limited time, new customers will be able to take advantage of a $50 cashback offer, just keep in mind that the account does come with a $5 monthly fee.

Key features:

The Complete Freedom bank account has unlimited free withdrawals from any St.George, Westpac or BankSA ATM and unlimited transactions with St.George telephone and internet bank services.

The difference with the Complete freedom package, compared with the St.George Express Freedom account, is that it also includes unlimited free over the counter transactions from any St.George branch. You can get the monthly account fee waived but you'll need to deposit a minimum $2000 a month or have a home loan with St.George. There is a Visa debit card option with the account (upon request) but the standard account only comes with a EFTPOS / ATM card.

If you need to access your money overseas you'll get charged $5 for overseas ATM withdrawals and 3% foreign exchange commission on any purchases made through the Visa Debit Card.

And for customers who open a new Complete Freedom account (either online or in a branch) before 3 April 2019 and deposit at least $250 within 45 days will be able to snag $50 cashback.

Who it's good for:

Anyone who already has a home loan with St.George or for anyone who needs regular branch access for their everyday banking.

Any catches?

If you need to set up regular payments from your account do it yourself via internet banking. St.George charge a $4 monthly periodic payment fee for each payment that they set up on your behalf.

Without having had experience of many other of the well known big players in the Financial Sector, I am not really in a position to compare &/or contrast between them. However I do feel that St George most certainly can hold its own, so whilst, I do not have intimate knowledge of what I perhaps am missing out on, I have never felt inclined, nor in need of obtaining such information, which in my mind, merely affirms my authenticity & belief that my bank, St George, caters to all my needs & requirements more than adequately.

Telephone and electronic banking is very easy to use. The customer service staff is always helpful and friendly and there are plenty of ATMs around. They are also good financial planners. I am not aware of, or had any issues with this bank.

Customer service is very supportive and I love their text alerts. However sometimes the ATM's are out of service and I waste time making a trip to them. Would love an online service where you can see if the ATM is down or not.
