(2.85% p.a. comparison rate*) and plenty of features like extra repayments and a redraw facility with minimal extra fees suitable for any home loan seeker.
ME’s Basic Home Loan has a range of options for owner occupiers and investors alike, with both principal and interest and interest-only options. The lowest variable rate is 2.83% p.a. (2.85% p.a. comparison rate*) for owner occupiers borrowing more than $150,000 and 3.53% p.a. (3.55% p.a. comparison rate*) for investors. However, those rates are only available to borrowers with a loan-to-value ratio (LVR) of 80% or less.
If your LVR is greater than 80% there are also a number of other options available to you, but these will come with highest interest rates.
This home loan allows you to make repayments at your own speed with the the flexibility to choose between weekly, fortnightly and even monthly repayments as well as the option to make extra repayments without any extra cost. Additionally, if you do need access to some additional cash while you’re paying off this loan and need to redraw some of those repayments you've already made, you can do so for free using the redraw facility! Just bear in mind that the minimum withdrawal amount is $500.
Another notable bonus of this loan is the ability to take a break if you’re ahead on your repayments with the repayment holiday feature. Holidays aren’t forever, but they give you the time to regroup, refresh and get back on track.

They take an incredible amount of time to deal with any small request. The time between aplying for the home loan and getting it was nearly 6 months, then they still wanted more money, which I offered in the first place! I took my business elsewhere and they had me set up within 2 weeks with no issues.

The worst bank to deal with, always 5 days behind, sending messages after loans have been completed. They are the most annoying bank to deal with, started well but anytime you need answers they always seem to mess it up.

Mebank approved us three (3) times for a home loan before our house sold. Now they decided not to give us the loan. The figures are the same. We've sold a big two storey house for rent be on the flat. Thanks for the letter confirming our not getting a loan. MeBank ridiculous bank I've ever come across. I will tell everyone far and wide how awful, and terrible your service was to us. Mebank took ages each time we approached you. We lost three houses because our house didn't sell and when we finally sell our home you declined our loan.

Despite informing the bank of the issues and me not being able access my own “savings”, the bank refuses to refund my money, based on “bank policies”.
